Any opinions as to whether optical cables require any running in? Logic would say no. But as we all know logic does not always prevail in our little niche in the world.

Hello I have a simple system comprising CDX2, Supernait, HiCap 2 and Allaes. I have a Hiline between CD and amp plus 2 Powerlines, one on the CD, one on the Supernait. Should I get the HiCap serviced but leave as plain vanilla or get the DR at same time? it’s a 2002 so probably overdue. Don’t want to upset the balance of the system as these units work well together as whole. Thanks

I'm replacing a flatcap, nac 112, nap 150 all 3 box fronts, with a nac 202 plus napsc, and a nap 200. 2 questions. Can I use the flatcap to power the 202 in the same way I do the 112? I see no reason why not. Is there any advantage to doing so, over using the 200 to power the 202? Thanks

I recently bought a 272 and I love it for music. However when I use it for the front speakers of my AV system it makes a (probably) 50hz buzz. I’m thinking that my AV amp is somehow on a different earth to my 272 and causing some feedback. Any suggestions?

Listening the astonishing Tablet 10's, I'm curious to learn more about K6/K8 reference speakers from ProAc. Anybody own or heard them? If I could have the sound of the Tablet 10, only with more scale I'd be buyer for my main system.

Hi, blown away by this little amplifier... Has a bounce, an energy which is hugely infectious. Really makes me want to stay listening waaay beyond my bedtime Can forum advise closest sound to this in a more powerful amp with remote control facility for volume? This thing is amazing! Since moving to Spain, the lack of hifi provision means that my nearest source is MILES (sorry, kilometres) away in Malaga. Gordon (by name) is also only a distributor not a shop. Sorry. Another record cleaning thread. Wanted to ride on an existing and still open thread but just cant find any. Anyway, recently I cleaned quite a few records (about 10) with a new Keith Monks Redux cleaning machine with the supplied cleaning fluid. I'm currently using a HCDR'd Superline with 453R Airplug & no Capacitance on my Xerxes 20+/Artemiz 2/Dynavecor XX-2. I've been reading some of the threads regarding Superline loading and whilst there are comments on a preference for a given loading there is very little input as to why. I am looking for experiences with Tellurium Q Diamonds. Which are you suggesting for 282/250DR/nDAC/Neat Momentum 4i? The Black or the Silver? Someone told me the Black Diamond would be a better fit for naim/Neat. Is he right?

I'm about to move to a Naim streamer. (I'm currently using a Sonos ZP90 into a 202 and 200DR.) Here’s a wonder I have, not with the intention of purchase, unless the Euros come through, but I’ve noticed that when one spends more on speakers, it gets to the focus of physical size. Do speakers simply near their asymptote of internal electronics at say £7000 and then, well, grow in size?

Does Naim amplification derive some of its sound signature due to its mains cable? I tried the stock mains cable with my second amplifier (a highly regarded Canadian manufacturer) and th e amplifier began to play in a completely different way. T he Pace, Timing and Rhythm became evident and the presentation manifested itself much more like Naim . How could this be? (Please excuse my broken english)

I have a NAC82, twin Olive HiCaps and a NAP250 - all of which are in need of a service. CD player is CDX2 with an XPS DR and beautiful walnut SBL speakers with the upgraded woofers and tweeters. The SBLs and XPS are new additions and have really transformed the sound from my previous EPOS11s. I now feel the need for an LP12 in my life as my 25-year old SystemDek IIX with the Rega250 arm and Ortofon Bronze are not doing it for me anymore. My budget is £4k & I'm happy to buy second-hand.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of the above? Did you find it a good match?
