Dear Jono, I shall be moving and things will be disrupted for a while after Easter - more the end of April, but things get tied up a bit after Easter with some social engagement and then packing.  Would you care to come over to Saint...

Nearly 18 months ago we had a thread on  this subject, and Jamie Wednesday bought a Tokina  11-16mm f2.8. I'm about to take the plunge and buy a superwide, or maybe something less extreme. I have a 17-85mm at the moment, but it just ain't...

What do you do with them?  Leave them as separate albums, or combine them together? It's obviously of trivial importance, but I thought I'd ask. (And, of course, it doesn't just have to be in iTunes) Gavin

Hi I'm not a big fan of the B&W speakers I have heard to date but these have really piqued my interest; I need a nice pair of 'phones for my iPOD. I'd prefer proper headphones rather than in-ears but don't want to look too much [more than usual!] of a jerk so they need to be small and modern. What do they sound like? Thanks, Julian

I did look for the what are you drinking now thread but it has been locked, and not in 'lockout kind of way'. Boo!

I see an American film producing company is trying to sue an English pub for calling itself The Hobbit, even though the pub has been called that since before they even made any of the Tolkien films.  Hopefully they won't be allowed...

Are we all going mad? The artful dodger Osborne has legalised picking pensioner’s purses to feed the rich. His boss Fagan “call me Dave” goes to meet with some nice Alzheimer's Society people to tell them how they can get an invite to dinner at number 10. We now have the OK to have jerry’s in our garage, I’m not too clear if this is 3 rd Reich jerry’s or the sort kept under the bed for those getting taken short moments. We are running out of petrol because we are all driving around panic...

Has it really come to this? I know the recession is hitting, but I saw what seemed like a mint 552 preamp go for £2900 on E-bay yesterday. When I think how much I paid for mine, it makes me weep (although I don't regret a penny of it) Or was it a scam... the guy started at £1000 and wouldn't allow personal collection or anything other than Paypal. Also, he diodn't seem to know anything about it... other than quoting Naim's literature. Either the buyer has got an absolute bargain... or he's...

So apparently everyone else's fault apart from the thieves, muggers, murderers, arsonists and thugs pissing about in the riots then..?

Just been watching The One Show. Suggestion was that a Street of people, or a Village, (or a Town ?) could negotiate a competitive deal with an energy company to provide a supply at (say) a 20% discount. How about the larger "Village" called...

Talk about taking the piss. The post office isn't even apologetic. And the government is taking on responsibility for future pensions, at least that's wahat I think I heard last week. Postmen must be laughing all the way to the...

I suspect that a lot of folks have like me a controller for their central heating on the wall in the kitchen (or somewhere similar). This enables me to set times for the heating and hot water to come on and off over a 7 day cycle. Works fine except,...

Having reached my half century in December, I was quite pleased to consider that I had hopefully twenty more years before reaching my biblical three score and ten years, at which time I loose much interest in surviving longer! Well I received two letters inviting me for a check-up by a practice nurse at my GP's. The first was quite polite, and the second was urgent to the point of being peremptory. Both must have cost a £1 to print and post. That much is a waste in itself, but more to the...

Hi all, Something occurred to me about a week ago, that amongst my friends, it is only me who appreciates hi-fidelity replication, so what I chose to do is sell some of my existing components and redistribute the funds to max out on the headphone...

Almost 18 years since he left this world and I still have tears in my eyes as I write this.   I had the distinct pleasure to see him drive twice, including once in the rain.  He drove a dry line on slicks, long after all the other...

It's called Collusion and shows you in graphical format exactly what else you're connected to when you visit common sites. Things are not always what they seem.
