With the big switch over just round the corner, I am considering my options. I am fed up with Sky and the monthly cost. I have two HD boxes ( and one box does not function properly, I suspect Sky would want rather a lot of £'s to fix/replace this), hence paying multi room cost. We only have basic package and I think it still costs me about £29 per month which really peeves me as I've just paid the BBC license fee in December as well. I would love to reduce my costs for TV viewing ( and buy...

Hi all, Here is a thought for you and a question to go with it.  Last night I watched the English remake of the "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" with Craig David and some female actress and noticed a scene where they were playing Enya in the...

Hi - any recommendations will be appreciated (current models). I have a Nikon DSLR which fulfils most of my serious photographer type needs. I also have a Canon Powershot S70 from 2005 which still takes good pics but has a tiny screen and is beginning to get bits of dirt in the lens. This has 28-100 equivalent lens and full manual control, quite advanced for the time. The new equivalent is the S100 (24-120) but is around the £400 mark now (I was thinking more like £250). I'm not bothered...

Does anyone know of this site  and of any reason why Sloop Jnr (now 16!) shouldn't have access to it? One has to download and install software which his settings don't currently allow (having learned the hard ...

Hi all, can anyone help me make a decision. I am a total beginner and would like to digitise the family photos that were taken before we had a digital camera. There will be quite a few old pre 1960's phtos and  I may even do some important...

Are their any nice ones out there as all my dealings with them have confirmed my view of money corrupting the basic values of human decency?. Never dealt with a pleasant one, not once. I'm talking multi-millions btw. Happy to be proved wrong. G

Just noticed looking at my bookmarks bar, that the Naim forum has a favicon finally to replace the generic one. I know this may be trivial, but still, I think it's a neat little detail! Dave

Naim guy's of the legal world, How long will they actually serve? As this is a minimum sentance do they still qualify to 'time off the sentance for good behaviour' or do they have to complete the so called minimum term? I would appreciate it if...

I have downloaded a book, one of 12 days of christmas freebie. Question, how does one "read" or listen to a book? Various clicking and selecting doesn't start anything. Is there something in the set-up?

I don't think this has been posted here yet... On the iTunes App Store, there's an app called Vinyl District. Fire it up, and it gives the name and location of your nearest vinyl seller. That might come in handy when the mistress is choosing some new...

Okay, I admit this is fairly unlikely to get a response, but you never know.... Does anyone listen to their iPod via the USB/Aux connection in a BMW? I've just started to do so, and I'm getting a niggling 'feature'. Using the...

The best (and worst) music of 2011 has been comprehensively covered over in the Music Room, but what about the best - and worst - TV of the year. It was a patchy year this year I thought, especially with no Mad Men. I found myself watching less...

I'm interested in comparing my system with other Naim based systems to see how it compares and to get ideas on what I can do to impove it. Listen to some new music and generally chat with other enthusiasts. Is anyone else interested in an informal...

Why do so many idiots drive around with their parking lights on when visibility is a little poor?  Personally I use my main headlights for this purpose - after all the point is TO BE SEEN, and the parking lights don't really help.

A Merry Christmas to all our readers!!!   We had our 40th Wedding Anniversary on 20th December, and on 17th I took SWMBO to see Les Mis again.  Would have been on the 20th, but they apparently chose to close the big West End Shows down...
