Currently have a Loewe Individual 32", now 4 years old, HD ready, courtesy of an insurance claim.I am toying with the idea of a Sony KDL40-HX803, 200hz motionflow, looks good reduced to £800. It would go with the Sony blu-ray BDP-S760 and Sony...

This question is for the wider audience - not especially for our friends in USA. Should we be worried about political violence & polarisation trends as bought to light in the Tucson tragedy? We have political extremes in UK & Europe. We (some) have strong political views, but they get expressed with a degree of respect for the other side - as per the debates on this forum. Yes a few are died in the wool left or die, others equally entrenched in the other side. Most I guess take the middle...

The graphs below are on Wikipedia and show the evidence gained from ice core tests. The x axis is thousands of years. So, every 125,000 years or thereabouts, car usage needs to be reduced?Tony

After Sunday's X-rated showing on the BBC - surely Mr K should live up to his words Keane told BBC Radio Suffolk: "I do feel I can turn things around. But you need that time and support and sometimes you don't get that - I live in the real world."...

I've just had the HD replaced in this MacBook as the last one went t*ts-up.However, the heads on the old one are damaged and the repairers were not able to recover the data on it. ( Don't say back-ups or Time Machine as I hadn't backed-up and the old...

We caught a preview showing of this yesterday and really enjoyed a thoughtful, funny and very human story; not quite the starchy costume drama I'd rather feared.Firth is brilliant as the reluctant stuttering King but Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham...

Quality Street. This year, and seeing as nobody would think to buy me my favourite sweets, I bought large 997 gram tin of Quality Street for myself, and now have two neatly arranged piles of blue and purple uneaten sweets! Who else is [and or was] so picky as to avoid the unknown [blue] or disliked [purple, and with large nuts under the chocolate] till the end? Mind you they have filleted the selection since the old days! ATB from George PS: The blue are coconut. Can't stand coconut!

I have made the move from PC to Apple with very few problems to date, & I have to say I am very happy with the decision I made. The only thing I need from my old 'pc' days is Microsoft office - easy - Office for MAC, which is installed and running, no problem. What I would love to do is get all (or as much as possible) data from PC office -> Apple office, which is causing me great confusion. I like keeping all of my emails available to search (thousands in the last 4 yrs or so) and would...

Hi all,I might ask this question tongue-in-cheek, but it is one hell of a bugbear of mine. (The current frustration I have is that I have lost the allen key for my nSATs and read on the forum that 'tightening up the nuts' reaps great reward. My nuts...
