Question is, can you plug a UK PC into a USA socket. There is no voltage change switch on the power supply.

This is an incredibly stupid question. I want to buy a retirement gift for a colleague (a fancy coffee-maker) which he may well take to his home in France. Is the voltage different? I cannot believe that I do not know this, but if I buy a UK model will...

Just been talking about Caterhams & Westfields with a few friends recently and one thing that I noted with some cars out there is the mix of modern engines with ECUs being feb by a pair of carbs (Ford 2.0 Zetec/Twin 45 Webber Carbs being an example). What is the reason behind using carbs when FI is more efficient/reliable? Is it just something else you can tinker with out in the garage ( )or is it that carbs just sound better? Answers on a oily piece of scrap paper if you please! Cheers, Steve
