http://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/music/rihanna-beats-the-beatles-for-most-weeks-at-number-one-on-the-billboard-charts-20160420-goaysc.html Somebody named "Rhianna" (not sure if she has a second name) has just broken the record held by The Beatles for most weeks at #1 on the Billboard top 10. Thing is, I couldn't name or recognize a single thing she sings. And you kids get off my lawn.

Decided to retire my iPad3 (16GB), since the grandkids had managed to fill the memory with their games etc. Why their games? Well, when they descend upon us, the first thing that happens is that they nick my iPad and iPhone and disappear with them, coming back to ask if they could have xyz game installed. Being a softy, I usually let them. Anyway, went to the Apple Store yesterday and got 64GB iPad Air 2. Looked at the iPad Pro, but decided it was complete overkill for what it would be used...

There were some interesting records available this year. I made my wish list as per usual... but I could not face the early start, the frantic scrum or the disappointment of potentially leaving the shop empty handed. Unlike previous years I planned to head out in the early afternoon and see what 'sweepings' were left. Over breakfast I scanned the usual web-based auction sites and low and behold saw all of the likely 'popular' desirables on my list already up for sale at three times the...

I have been sitting here , patiently, waiting for my streamer to have an update/upgrade fix and can't stop thinking. I'm getting really stressed out by the time it's taking. I have spoken to Phil Harris at Naim, who has been extremely polite and tried to be helpful, and other parties involved but cannot get over the fact that it is taking over a month to fix a simple upgrade. Come on guys, what's going on?

Is there a way to turn off spellcheckers ? The ones that are pretty sure they know more than you about what you are writing. Hotmail, Outlook, Naim Forum, everywhere, they are everywhere. If anyone is a software engineer, is there an explanation why the creators of these software think that should be a default and not a choice when it is wrong 90% of the time in my experience in the assumption they make of what is being typed. If they are indeed well intentioned, what are the estimates of...

Any users of Amazon Prime Household here? I ask because I am contemplating joining due to several TV series which sound interesting (to either me or SWMBO) and are only available via Amazon Prime Video. All I really want to know is something that the Amazon website doesn't tell me. (it's the usual "lots of info, but missing the bit you really want to know" problem) I believe that you can set up an Amazon Prime Household membership with SWMBO. If I do this, would this mean that we would have...

Dear Forum So the new GP season has started, and whilst the 1st race wasn't the most exciting (I don't think that the Qatar round ever is), it did hint at what could be a good season. Rossi has signed a new 2 year contract so he should be 'relaxed' and ready to race; Ducati has started strongly again, so it'll be interesting to see if they can be more consistent this year; Lorenzo has started well with a back to back win; Marquez was strong and his usual 'happy' self despite the Honda not...

Hi, I know that quite a few forum members have their home contents cover with Hiscox, largely because they treat our hi fi systems as being composed of individual items, rather than an overall figure. I recently received my renewal invitation, and noticed that the single item limit of £15,000 was now worded "any single item, any pair of items or set of items". I've spoken with them, and they've confirmed that their interpretation of things remains, as before, insofar as, that, if the items...

One of the remote controls for our garage door has stopped working. It's the 'spare', and is only occasionally used by SWMBO when I am out with the car on my own. My first reaction was change the battery (it takes a CR2032 flat lithium battery - one of the little disc thingies). Didn't cure the problem, so put the old battery back in and then the little red light on the remote was working again, but still no joy with opening/closing the garage door. I looked through the manual to see if I...

Well, she never sees to amaze (bemuse?) me. She was complaining about the Call Blocker she bought a couple of years ago failing to stop a lot of nuisance calls. So, I have invested in a BT 8610 Advanced Call Blocker. First complaint : "Why did you buy that? We don't need it". To this I replied that I was fed up of the moans about nuisance calls, and £80 for the phone + 2 extra handsets wasn't unreasonable. I set it up, entered our "VIP" numbers, and set it to block numbers which block caller...

Hi Folks I'm in need to some help! I've just moved to a Windows 10 PC at home and installed my copy of Office 2010. I've opened up my existing Outlook files and it seems to be connecting to the email server to bring back new mail. However, all is not well. The count for unopened mail against the Inbox in the Navigation pane has risen, but the new mail items aren't appearing in the main pane where the emails are listed. This list is the list from when I copied the outlook file from my old...

Does anyone use these? I'm considering trying a pair out to 'hardwire' Muso + Sonos t'net, as wifi from Router on other side of house can be flakey. Built in wifi would be useful though for the TV. Any recommendations and do they impact on HiFi SQ?
Kevin RichardsonPosted: 24 March 2016Last Updated: 27 March 2016
I imagine some women are into HiFi but appears fairly rare. I always refer to the stereo as "Our Stereo" but I think it would drive me insane if my wife took a real interest and started making changes. I mean... What if someday I came home to learn she replaced "our DAC" with a different model that she preferred? Have any of you ended relationships due to incompatible preferences in SQ presentations?

Just received a letter today from Sainsbury's Bank telling me that w.e.f. 1st June they will be reducing the interest rate payable on my savings account by approx 20% which, of course equates to the standard rate of UK income tax paid on savings interest. This means that the gross amount of interest paid to savers will equate to the net amount previously paid i.e. the bank are pocketing the tax allowance on my interest. Does anybody think that this is a coincidence?

Went yesterday, couldn't believe the discounts off some products. Just shows how much can be knocked off, if the retailers want to. Nothing off the Nikon D5 though, full price it will be then.

My understanding is that Mu-so retails at £895. So why is a seller on Amazon advertising it for £204 more than retail price? Here's the link (hope this is OK given the circumstances Richard) : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Naim-Mu-So-Wireless-Music-System/dp/B00R1H7IIC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1458631936&sr=8-1&keywords=naim+muso Naim may want to look into this...
