Rosetta has landed on a speeding comet. Amazing feat; this stuff really gets me excited. The urge to explore and marvel at the universe around us is still strong. I loved Cassini-Huygens dropping a probe into the clouds of Titan, and Curiosity...

This thread was started to allow interested parties to continue discussing the effect f frequency extremes and their effect upon auditory perception which was incidental to a post on the relative merits of PMC and Kudos loudspeakers. I've copied and...

Just bought myself a new iPhone 6+, and given my 3GS to SWMBO.  Hopefully that will stop her moaning about how difficult to use her Sony Experia (android) is.  (no sympathy from me, because she chose it herself!)   All OK, but I want to...

Anyone else glued to the telly (BBC News channel for me) absolutely shaking with excitement over the Rosetta mission and the little Philae probe, which is, as I write this, only minutes away from touching down on the surface of a comet?   On a...

When I tried tonight to connect to the Naim site using Firefox, I got a message saying the naim site was insecure. I agreed to a Firefox "exception" to be able to access the naim site.   Anybody else have this problem ?

Having resisted for so long I have taken the plunge and bought a Mobile Phone.  So the next task is to fill it with useful Apps.  Which Apps does the panel believe will prove most useful to me on my journey into the 21st century?   SteveT

Quite bizarre...   http://www.independent.co.uk/n...e-fears-9849602.html   This implies a goup of men, women, paedophiles would be OK. Or if someone was truly desperate to see the show they could simply nip out and kidnap a small child to...

I've heard of some daft railfares and significsnt variations but.............. I set out the other day to walk the section of the Kennet & Avon Canal between Pewsey and Bradford on Avon. We normally take two cars and park them, one at either end of the walk. However, I thought it might be easier to park at (say) Pewsey, take the train to Bradford on Avon and then walk back, or vice-versa. Its about 30km so an early start was required, no later than 09:00 from Bradford. A quick Google...
