Did any of you watch the TV prog last nite.....ON BENEFITS AN PROUD.....i almost flung my bottle of wine thru our TV i was so uptight. One woman had enough kids to turn out a whole football team with subs, never worked(now that suprised me),and was almost given a £600,000 house. Then another load of scumbags within a stones throw of Liverpools ground, again on the Rock n Roll have enough money to smoke and visit the pub. Then they show the man on the phone to Liverpool Council. He says to the...

If I'm following a topic, every time there's a reply to that topic, I get an email reminder. So, if there are ten replies to a topic between the visits I make to it, then I get ten emails in my Inbox. This is totally unnecessary and not the...

Chaps, This thread is started so that those that have a real bee in their bonnet about something can come and deposit it as they wish, vent frustration or just clear their heads. Inspired by the Vodka ethernet thread currently running. I...

Also on last nite on BBC1 was the Crimewatch story on Madeleine McCann. That poor young child is certain to be dead all because of her STUPID parents. The parents between them must have been earning best part of £200.000 a year,he a hospital consultant and she a GP. In my mind you just dont leave such young kids alone at nite in a strange house in a foreign country. With the money they both earnt they should have at the very least hired a baby sitter. Mista h

This really isn't very easy, is it? Despite it being the most natural, expected and routine thing in so many ways, I am having real difficulty and a roller-coaster of emotions watching my mum fading, and watching my dad watching my mum.  It...

Serious nostalgia. My first car bought with my first paycheck was a very tatty example. I drove it for years whilst it decayed gently, I proposed to my wife sitting on the bonnet on a windswept moor... Anyway this is rather a tider example. Built...

The government’s plan to silence criticism is whizzing through parliament. [1] Alongside other organisations - from Oxfam to the Countryside Alliance - 38 Degrees members have been turning up the pressure on MPs. [2] And it’s working. Today, the government tried to grab back the initiative. They’ve published changes to the plans which they say would address the main concerns. [3] But they’re trying to dupe us - and dupe MPs. Their suggested changes are cosmetic, not substantial. The thrust...

Is it me or does it gobble up battery power faster than iOS6 did on the iPad? I have settings optimised for most efficient power consumption, and only have apps in use 'live'. John.

According to the Daily Mail, Ed Moribund's dad was an enemy of our country. Is that the same Daily Mail that supported Hitler in the 1930s? And the same Ralph Milliband who served in the Royal Navy during the War? Hmmm....

With retailers getting charged around 3% for credit card transactions, it is customers who the fees eventually get passed on to. Thoughts?

I took a look on Google Streetview at where I lived from about 3-17 years old. What a complete hole it looks now. I can't believe I enjoyed it so much. And instead of being on the edge of what seemed like never ending countryside, it's now in the middle of a faceless, hideous estate. I really don't think I'll ever wander around there again. You know, the paths where you blatted at full speed on yer bike, had fights with other kids, chased the girls.....  Getting old.... Tony
