Padded Cell
I have just opened my back door and there it is: the stench! The little devils climb neighbours walls and fences and end up leaving their traces all over my back yard. I have contacted Islington council and they said that there was...

A friend up at the British Superbikes at Knockhill posted this pic: And it made me think of: I think we need to be told!
Any chance of the old crowd that have left this forum coming back and making this the place it once used to be. There are still some good people on here but we need them back to join the rest of us.I know you are reading this STU so come back and join us.
I read today that Law Enforcement Officers are soon going to be able to fine us on the spot for hogging the middle lane in the UK. Sounds awfully subjective to me. Can somebody point me to a legally enforceable definition? For...
My niece recently gave birth to a beautiful baby daughter. I was sent a lovely photo of the baby along with her name...... Wren Karelyn! What is it with with new parents today? They seem to want to outdo each other with the weirdest names for their...
At the risk of turning our manly forum into a version of 'Mums Net'.......I do enjoy making a fine curry whilst listening and sloshing back some nice vino. Have a look at 'Mrs Chittaluru (yes, really) Family (Authentic Indian) Chicken Curry...
Just heard a radio ad. for the (supposedly) new Ford Mondeo where 1.6 petrol model starts at £16k ! Without the "prestige" of the German marques and reliability of the Japanese who could be so stupid to buy a new Ford ?

I know I'm an 'old fart' (at least SWMBO refers to me as one), but why is it so difficult to find a new shaving brush on the average high street? In Burton-On-Trent, the only place which seems to stock Shaving brushes and shaving soap...

Electoral Reform? With discussion of allowing people from the age of sixteen to vote in the Scottish Referendum on leaving the Union, I was struck by the idiocy of the idea! I think eighteen is too young to vote and would advocate twenty-one...
Any ideas? I don't want to spend much money. Some kind of compact model that I can use down to 5 or 6 metres ought to do it.
The BBC Sunday Politics Show, hosted by Andrew Neil http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-22832994 Maybe best ask the question to our US readers - is this guy for real ??? Does the USA actually let people like him out of secure institutions ???? It starts quiet enough but he gets wound up and up and finally explodes. The chair a well-respected political journalist politely requests him to “shut it”. Then Jones’ throws another rant about how the Euro is a Nazi plot, the UK government is killing us...
Dear all I've been asked to do a job for someone which involves running five different Twitter feeds. There would be a certain amount of overlap, but each feed would also require its own content. Rather than logging in and out of each feed...
I was saddened to hear on the news this morning that Iain Banks has passed away. In his recent revelation about his diagnosis he expected to have at least a year. Sadly it appears he had far less time than anticipated. I was...
I'm reasonably sure when I was growing up that the idea of a magnetically levitating/propelled train was of the Buck Rogers-y hypothetically-possible-wouldn't-it-be-nice type idea. Can't say I thought about it deeply much since. Until yesterday,...
Some outstanding images in the interesting old photos thread. There must be a lot of outstanding old cine film out there. Some excellent footage and apparently innovative techniques in "Man with a movie camera". Shot mainly in Odessa in 1929, the film...
A bloody wasp nest has appeared above the front door! It's only small, and it's lovely to look at, but it couldn't be in a worse place. Can I just remove it? Legally?
...Is to be the next Doctor?
