Home Theatre
Hello together
Haven't been here in ages. Just been enjoying my gear except for an annoying bug in the nVi.
I know the nVi hasn't been produced in a while, but when it still was, the problem was never fixed.
And with Naim's exceptional costumer...
Hi,
Just wondering if Naim are ever going release a sound processor like the Audiolab 8200AP. Just to process the sound no video duties like NVi. Possibly with Dirac room correction. Maybe to even challenge the Datastat RS20i? Can even add streaming...
Thought this might be a fun thread - after all home theatre isn't just about DVDs and Blu-ray. Linear or broadcast TV is also important... I'll after the ball rolling.
I was looking for info on V175 but could not see it listed. Only V145 can be found.
So, having just taken the plunge and got a Pioneer SX-LX75 receiver, now I need to find a centre speaker. Front speakers will be NBL's driven by my 82/Supercap/135's. Surrounds will be my IBL's driven from the Pioneer. For now I have a cheap (was...
Have had nVi (with full nSat, nCent and nSub system) for around 5.5 years now. About 1 or 2 years in, Naim substantially rebuilt the nVi due to problems with it. Then, about 2.5 years ago after a fire in the house it was sent...
Concerning the AV2 bass management, the SBF appears only when the front speakers are set as small, in that case the bass content of BOTH the front and surround speakers are transferred to the sub below the set SBF frequency? Or is it a different fixed frequency for the surrounds like 8oHz? If the front speakers are declared as large then the SBF options don’t appear. What is the fixed cut-off frequency used for the surround speakers then if declared as small?
Hi I have recently connected a Sony STR-DA3500ES AV receiver to my Naim 2/250/n-Sats system. BRP and HDR are connected to the Sony by HDMIs and a further HDMI goes out to my Sony LCD television. An optichord feeds the sound back to...
All, I feel it would be useful for a lot of us to get your feedback about the various solutions that you have implemented to stream movies, and the pros/cons of your approach. On my side: - Ripping: I am using Windows PC and free...
The OPPO BDP-95EU player with its uprated audio circuit seems to be a hit with the critics giving quality sound over a variety of formats. It is soon to be replaced by the OPPO BDP-105EU. I would be interested to...
After 6 months of owning an Nvi I have finally succumb to the opinion that these machines are iherrently problematic and are basically expensive lumps of scrap metal. The unit spent more time back at Naim than actually in my living room. After...
Has anyone seen this? Does it work? In my experience high frame-rate film/video looks too real. It makes it seem like actors on a set (which, of course it is). It looks like a documentary, or "making of" video, rather than a movie. Any...
Folks, I have my TV connected to the AV input (via RCA). Couple of questions: a) I have to crank up the volume almost to 3 pm to get same levels as my music input (via DAC) which plays fine at 9 pm level? Is this something to do with...
Reason I ask is that I continue to be amazed at the quality of my Loewe Aconda CRT TV. They retailed at around £2k, and can be bought on eBay for £20 or so. I'm considering getting something bigger in a while, being limited to 32". Should I just sit closer? Regards TM-P
Evening everyone... Yesterday my old Hitachi CRTV, purchased in 1993, finally died. I figured that it's not worth getting it repaired (if anyone actually still repairs CRTVs) so I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy a new one. Thing is, because I've not been in the market so long, I've no idea what's out there, let alone what to buy - LED, LCD, plasma etc. I'm not interested in 3D, or anything over 32 - 36 inches. I already have a perfectly good Humax box so it doesn't need to record.
I am so far still very happy with my n-Vi hooked to two vintage JBL front speakers (Apollo's) and one centre speaker (L-40), also vintage. I watch mostly HD movies from the local cable TV provider, connecting the set top box digital sound out to the...
Wondering if anyone can help me I have just taken delivery today of the above Tv I'm rather impressed with the performance so far. There is just one problem I can't get ITVHD through it because I live in Scotland anyone know any short cuts cheats to...
I tried to connect my ORION TV32LB2000 via coax cable to my Uniti, but "no signal" in display. TV uses internal digital cable tuner. All available settings of TV are set to "stereo, no surround, no dolby". Connection from my PC to Uniti works with the...
has anybody purchased from hispekshop24? Their prices seem to good to be true, which sadly, means they are probably dodgy...... anyone tried them, I did google but couldn't get a clear view? Gary
I have a nait xs gathering dust and a clapped out Arcam movie solo (which I need to replace)I also have a great Panasonic Blu-ray. Any recommendations on a great 3 channel bolt on amp equipped with dolby, dts etc that would work well? Also, how...
I'm curious why Naim has never got into making bi-pole or di-pole speakers for rear channel surround sound use. To be honest I have been forced down the route of using such speakers because my viewing sofa is right up against the back...
Hi Guys, I'm looking to improve the sound from my Samsung LCD TV, but do not want to go for a surround sound setup. My Hi-Fi is quite separate from the TV, in my "music" room, so I've been looking at various soundbars as a possible...
Wanted to get a trustworthy opinion from people who may have used Netflix.... How does their HD streaming compare to a Blu-Ray (via PS3 - not a high-end player).
http://www.prometheus-movie.com/uploads/112142280-Alien-Engineers.pdf I found it an interesting read, this is FAR more an Alien prequel. M
I keep contemplating a new tv to replace my 4year old 42inch Samsung plasma. Anyone done any research to what is good bang for buck? Thinking 50+ inch but not sure brand(is it still Panasonic or Samsung that rule) is plasma still the best (no idea...
