Dear Forum, I just finished my long decision process on "what speakers will I upgrade to"...and the decision was a clear one--naim Ovator S400. Now I am curious as to how I may have the best of both worlds--excellent stereo sound and a 5.1 (maybe...

Dear Forum, I shall take delivery of my S400s tomorrow and have asked a similar question on the Home Theatre forum with no success...so here goes: I am moving from 5.1 (B&W 6-series) to 4.0/4.1 (willing to give a phantom centre a go for a while). The S400s will be my two main speakers, but I don't want to completely give up on two rear channels. While I am waiting and hoping for S200s to be made available, what can I do in the meantime? I am assuming the BMR absence won't...

Hello On my Nac 282 after I tried X-Box on Aux2 with Chinch (holded program button and pushed 6) and it worked perfectly, then I tried Ipot touch with original Mac cable and there got no music out (perhaps it's normal), it worked on a Cambridge...

I'm using my Denon 3800 blu-ray M/C analogue outputs fed into a Naim/Pioneer amp & processor and interested in how others have set up the bass management. I've assumed that setting all speakers to SMALL with sub set to ON is the preferred way of doing things. I've read several HiFi News reviews, some going as far back as 2002, where Paul Miller has recommended setting all main speakers to LARGE with the sub set to ON, otherwise the bass management causes problems. Specifically he...

Hi,I was wondering if anybody else had this problem? If say I use my n-Vi every day, I have no problems. I can put in in standby and wake it up at will. But if I put it in standby and don't use it for 2-3 days, it won't wake up.It will show "powering...

Hello everybody; It has been a while since I posted. Some of you know that I am a home theater fan and I enjoy my Naim integrated HT setup. I recently received an iPad2 as a gift and found it fitting to purchase an Apple TV2. Here is what I...

One for those with non-Naim A/V receivers. Audyssey's microphone measurements seems to have taken over the A/V setup world. I have it on my Denon AVR 4310 and have to say it does an excellent job of setting speaker distance/volume.  You...

Recently I decided to improve my TV watching experience. A flurry of activity saw me with a Panasonic TX-P50ST30 & DMP-DT310EB plus a Denon 2312 with Monitor Audio Silver RX centre and rear speakers. This lot was teamed up with a Sky HD box and a pair of Mission 753 Freedoms to form my first ever 5.0 system. I used the amp assign function to channel what would have been additional rear or front surround effect speakers to drive the Missions as if bi-amped. The Audissey EQ programme was...

Can someone tellme how to check what firmware my N-vi is running, also when was the latest update  implemented
john R1Posted: 26 January 2012Last Updated: 26 January 2012
is there an adjustment to get N-vi to stay locked onto selected sound mode, mine keeps switching from DPL11 to stereo for no reason
john R1Posted: 25 January 2012Last Updated: 25 January 2012
N-vi keeps switching to stereo on Tv signals, never used to do this, used to stay on Dpl11, only switching to stereo when i play cds, surerly its not going wrong again, cost almost £200 to have the display fixed some months ago.

Hi Naim Fans, A friend of mine is looking to upgrade his old Sony AV receiver for his home theatre and also to drive a new pair of floor standing speakers for a stereo sound system. What he has in mind is to buy a 9.1 AV receiver, use 5.1 channels for his surround system and then use the remaining 4 channels as a ‘zone 2’ to bi-amp the new floorstander (Kef 700’s) he is proposing to buy. Now I know the immediate answer is to go Naim where you can but he is not in a financial position to do...

I have to admit to having been put off Pioneer amps some years ago by several bad examples and have been resolutely a Yamaha man for AV amps over the past fifteen years but boy am I revising my opinions this time around! My home theatre system has been integrated into the naim 2 channel system for some years with NAP250 SBL at the front and a Yamaha £500 ish receiver driving some Kef bipolar rear's/sub. Sub duties are performed by 2x REL Storm's and there is no center so I run in phantom...

Hi guys I have recently integrated my hi-fi and surround sound setup. N-vi and Ovator 400 on the front, B&W centre, M1 surround and PV 1 sub. Connected to 200/202. The surround sound is brilliant, but at times I notice that it overpowers the dialogue. Seems to be inconsistent but I have noticed predominantly on Apple TV movies. Anyone else experiencing similar issues? Any ideas? Thanks Tony

Hi there, My setup consists of a Naim AV2 to a NAP250.2 and NAPV175 powering 2 Linn Kabers for the front. I had a Rel Quake connected to the low-level on the AV2 mainly for the .1 LFE channel on movies. Over Christmas, I've replaced...

Hi all I,m in the market for a new tv and it looks like stuff has move don since my last purchase.... I am thinking c50inch. Would like it to be reasonably future proof so 3d and Internet would be useful. Open to plasma / led. I don't have a specific budget in mind but a quick look in John lewis suggest c£1000 should get me something ok? Any recommendations or recent experiences would be appreciated. Gary

Can anyone explain how to adjust audio sync on the AV2?  When watching cable tv, the audio is a bit out of sync.  I've referred to the manual, but can't figure out how to adjust? Advice welcome.

Damn and blast.  I entered the setup routine on my AV2 last night just to check out on Chris Bell's problem.  Spent the rest of the night until beddy-byes watching off-air material on my DVD recorders (hence stereo only) This moring I...

Hi, I'm looking into the options of upgrading my system from a 5.1 system to a split system for stereo and multichannel, using the same speakers. I've auditioned a several Naim amplifiers with my own speakers and that seemed to work very well...

For some reason my AV remote controller has decided to stop controlling my AV2. The other side of things, i.e. the CD, Pre etc. works fine & the Philips "Pronto" remote I mostly use for volume, processing and source selection also works OK, so I'm pointing the finger firmly at the AV2's remote. Is there some way of resetting it? Perhaps the remote keyset has been inadvertently changed? (I suspect outside fiddling...)
