System Pics 2018

Welcome to System Pics 2018.
To start things off, here are a couple of pictures of my setup. There have been some big changes over the past year; a 300 and a 555PS, and some extra shelves to accommodate them.
Latest incarnation of the amps. It looks a lot like it did, but the NAPSC has gone as the 82 morphed into a 52 today, so 52 Supercap 135s. I had the 82 for 25 years from new. Already hearing a major difference. That’s the Elles Springs clear vinyl album playing on the TMS.

A classic Olive amp setup - nice
Looks great Eoink, always loved the look of the 82/52 lighting arrangement.
Wonderful EOINK, we are following such similar paths, even to the choice of album!
best regards, FT
Thanks for the kind words everyone, I love the look of olive amps, and even cold from the car it sounds great. FT, a Touraj deck fronting high-end olives playing great music, what could be better?
Very nice collections as I can see Eoink; I am equally impressed by the records and the boxes.

Love the look of those speakers.
The final addition to my home headphone system - a Kimber Axios headphone cable to make the most of the 1Z's balanced output. I'm rather enjoying this setup.
???? James N,....Which headphone cable did you have before this Kimber.?
And..What was the greatest improvement?

Me too. Are yours up on the spikes? Is there a mechanism to stop them getting knocked off?

I particularly like the “casual” cable dressing.

Love the speakers - those bass cones look rather serious. Elan make some rather interesting speakers (and the Manley is rather lovely too)

Congratulations James, that set up looks superb.

Anto68 a lovely setup which, might I say, would look even better if you somehow managed to find a way to hide the interconnects. Always loved how timeless the valve amps look. What brand are your speakers?

I read that there are a few options. On spikes and a centre screwed tether pin. Just spiked. A hard mount screwed and a soft mount screwed and either unscrewed. Best sound reported was untethered spiked, but that would be like skating on ice blindfolded whilst drunk on magic mushroom tea I can imagine.

Can you describe the sound of the headphones and if your Walkman gives them enough power ?

I can imagine a non-contact locating dowel that stops the speaker skating off if knocked, but that doesn't otherwise connect the base and speaker. Interesting...

The 1z has no problem driving them Bert - My normal listening level is around 74 and the combination does sound rather good. I'll put some thoughts up on your original Mobile Audio 3.0 thread in a couple of days (including impressions of the Axios cable for Peder)
James, I really like the look of those headphones. Which model are they?

Thanks very much appreciated. The headphones topic is still an open point in my journey, so very interested in your views....

???? James N,...I say the same thing as Bert above,..and wait with excitement.
This with headphones is interesting,I'm in the process of "building out" my fixed headphone-system.
But right now,the purchase of a DAP is prioritized ????.
