Mahavishnu Orchestra - Between Nothing and Eternity Live, early ‘80s vinyl
jazz fusion pioneers playing live, extreme musicianship, rock rhythms, jazz rhythms. Occasionally it seems to be sliding to self-indulgent technique, then the interplay firms up and the deep musicianship and soul shines through, and the track becomes a heartfelt joy. For me a demonstration that love of music shines through in any musical form, great stuff. Nice way to recover from the cricket highlights.
Have you heard the 'Lost Trident Sessions' album? It contains the original studio versions of the music on this album. In this case I find the recording to be better. Nonetheless, they're both essential Mahavishnu.
Not yet Clive, but I will have soon, order placed on the river, thanks a lot.

Just heard Cook get out, using Multiroom to the full while pottering about the house.
Anna von Hausswolff - Ceremony (released 2013). Streaming on Spotify. Love this talented artist and my best new discovery of 2018. Great though her work is so far I think she is just getting started.
Had a snow patrol morning. Yesterday I already heard their new one and did it again today. Good album, might buy it...
Then went back to this one, still remember that in my Hong Kong time I listened into it, but then didn’t decide to buy it as it wasn’t good enough for me, that’s why it’s nice to hav Tidal..
Then moved to this one which I belief is their greatest, whith a couple of five star songs on it...
Now into this fine series of Faure music, I just bought the volume four yesterday....

Goldfrapp - Black Cherry - CD
Massively impressive Strict Machine and others enough to blow all the cobwebs away into orbit even at just past eight o’clock!
I shall do a Jack in the Bean Stalk impressions as the runner beans are growing several inches a day even as they harden off. My second Naim must be Green-Fingers.

The late, great D Boon. An incredible talent. What a ridiculous way to pop your clogs.

Diane Schuur - "Deedles" (1984) I believe she was based out of Seattle and I was fortunate to see here live in Pdx with the Tom Grant Band about the time this was released. Pretty darn good singer.
The old glorious GRP days here Jeff!
They were great years and it is great music, I should listen to it more often. I think I liked everything I ever heard on the label. Hope you and "the ladies" are well, Gian. regards, Jeff A

Just finished: Sylvan Esso - What Now
CD (2017)
Continuing the indie pop with Alvvays - Antisocialites
CD (2017)
First run on this one this morning. Very good sounding, brilliantly played jazz in the tradition of Don Cherry and Ornette Coleman ...
I listened to this at a fellow Naimee's house a few years ago when I was collecting a NAT01 tuner that I had bought from him. I have one other album -- I listened to them last night after long time no spin

After Redman followed a very modern trio (guitar, bass drums). Recorded in 2014 now released by a spanish label.
Time to relax with some old fashioned electronica from Sankt Otten with a guest appearance by Can's Jaki Liebezeit. Reminds me of Kraftwerk from time to time.
Back to reality with the new Pusha T release. Killer stuff, take a listen if you are into Hip-Hop.
Not bad either
The best Parket Courts album to date in my book. Produced by Danger Mouse... Aoty contender
Chvrches - Love Is Dead
CD (2018)
Released yesterday in the U.S. First listen.
Coming back to this one again. Piano driven stuff with an Alex Chilton / Tav Falco/ Memphis aura. Very likeable.

Jennifer Warnes - Famous Blue Raincoat -- The Songs of Leonard Cohen
Streaming on TIDAL....... With mentions from APYE!, EOINK, and MUTTONJEF over the past day or so prompted me to take Jennifer out for a spin. Wow, instant gratification with the opening track with Jennifer's vocal and Stevie Ray Vaughan guitar working on "First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin," just fantastic! Looking forward to the rest of the album.......

For no particular reason other than I just fancied this light hearted stuff after what has been yet another hot, sunny, cloudless day. It's a rip from the vinyl Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs' "The Beatles - The Collection" Box Set October (1982) which were half speed mastered by Stan Ricker, the box sets were pressed in Japan on JVC "SuperVinyl".
On 45rpm vinyl, excellent SQ!!
