What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
arrived today, ripped and I have had a first listen -- wow - turning out to be a very good set -- lucky find -- just bumped into this while browsing around yesterday...

Freshly ripped CD
Thomas Dolby: The Flat Earth, original vinyl. Why? Well it's that good that I'm playing it again in a week. The go-to Hi-Fi test disk of the 80s. A superb example of excellent recording, engineering, and edge-pushing musicianship. If you haven't heard it you really must. What this guy can't do with backwards tracking fretless bass isn't worth bothering with.
Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland, 1980s U.K. vinyl
Just listening to side 4 as having heard Dylan/Band’s Watchtower, wanted to hear Jimi’s peerless performance. This is a great rock album, great guitar work of course, but also great vocals, songs and band.
Because I haven't listened to this for a few weeks. Cara is sounding particularly sublime this evening

Why? Review. It's OK smooth pop in a Wham/George Michael/ABC style that just about wears its age well enough. There's a remastered original album, an acoustic version of same (Does everyone and his dog feel they have to do this?), plus the obligatory demos/CD/alternate mixes CD.

The joke is on me. The acoustic album is excellent and better than the "real" version. Suits the material much better in that format.

Luluc, Sculptor, quirky album from this Aussie folk duo, check out the track ‘kids’ , really nice production and sounds wonderful. Streaming on tidal.

I love the subtle contributions from Kim Wilde on backing vocals on a few of the tracks
Eric Clapton - Behind the Sun, on SACD.
13 track version.
From a batch of charity shop purchases, this is really quite good, how did I miss them at the time?

David Gilmour - On An Island (2006).
Now Playing.................
Wolfgang Muthspiel - Where The River Goes
Wolfgang Muthspiel (guitar), Ambrose Akinmusire (trumpet), Brad Mehldau (piano), Larry Grenadier (double bass) and Eric Harland (drums).
Streaming on NAS......... arrived at the house a couple of days ago and taking out for a second spin and it is sounding superb! Just what the doctor ordered after a day like today..........
Louie is such a beast on guitar...
Great album cover too...even the font is perfect.
The Fireman. Electric Arguments. On CD from 2008. Among my top-five Macca albums. Creative and uninhibited music.
Billy Squier. Don't Say No. On original vinyl from 1981. A very talented if not somewhat forgotten musician and songwriter. Love his signature 'poor man's Robert Plant' vocals. I was fortunate to have seen Billy perform live with Ringo's All-Star band. His solo acoustic version of "In The Dark" was a concert highlight.
Krishna Prasad (Harry Manx) latest album.

Following Black Fire with the only other Andrew Hill album I have in my collection, Point of Departure. I used to find this difficult to listen to, but clearly my ears weren’t ready for it when I bought it. Now I’m enjoying all its charms.
Try Compulsion!!!!! also on Blue Note.
