Alabama Shakes - Boys & Girls.

Their debut album from 2012, which, ignoring all the hype at that time, actually did fulfill expectations, and has lasted well.

Southern bluesy rock, belted out convincingly by Brittany Howard and the band.

I saw the original band in a pub in Southend, it was a great night, and Wilko was, well, just a one off, never seen anything like him on stage.

Saw Wilko and his band at Leeds Uni. last year, and am pleased to report that, on stage, he is still every bit as bonkers as ever!

  Otis Taylor - White African.

I posted Otis' "Hey Joe" album the other day, so here's another from the modern king of trance blues.

Easy to tell that John Lee Hooker was a huge influence on Otis' work, so let me direct you towards Tidal for a listen .............

................ mesmerising stuff, and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Returning to what has become my favourite Bill Evans album, displacing Waltz for Debby (which is, of course, a distillation of this, but it's so nice to be able to hear the pieces in the right order).
