On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
A relaxed evening and listening to an early Gregory Porter album - sounding superb on the system tonight...
ATB. George.

Great album I love Dawn Landes she never makes a bad album. I also like her ex Josh Ritter's music as well. ????

Awesome album, which makes more sense if you listen to TT's pervious offerings as each one becomes more stripped down if played chronologically. Each album immaculately crafted, from conception to realisation.
Simple Minds: Big Music, first pressing vinyl, 2014
From the opening chords this is a winner. Big sound for the masters of wide music, not just stadium filling but horizon filling.
Back on form and easily the best of my new albums for Xmas
Brand new release from the boys. I used to make a point of going to see them if they were playing in a venue close by as they always put on a good show.
A little bit of jazz.
Bought a new vinyl copy today because my 40 year old version was sounding ratty! One of my favorite Trane recordings. Wise One!
'Some Enchanted Evening'.
Beth Orton - Trailer Park
Quietly. Nudging the whimsy meter into the red zone.
On CD:-
Kate Bush - Never for Ever

I've always been bemused by this album cover. Is KB here portrayed as some kind of post-diluvian ark, or is it a metaphor for creativity generally, possibly with Gaian pretensions?
In glorious mono.
Yesterday evening, a fine lyrical trio...
All bands with Alex are a delight..
Sibelius can sound very good on a Sunday morning, even when it is the last holiday...

I don't own much classical music Bert but am a big fan of Vanska's Sibelius work with the Minnesota orchestra.

Prompted by Ewemon to play Dawn Landes.

I would even take it a step further Vanska has produced already quite some above average albums so far. Also his Beethoven is interesting. And i looking forward to how his Mahler cycle is unfolding, while I haven’t heard it. This Sibelius is the most transparent I have heard so far. Normally conductors tend to create a wall of good sounding Sibelius, but here you get a transparency which is missing with most. Absolutely recommended.
