What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Kandace Springs - Indigo
Many thanks to forum members for bringing my attention to this lady last year.
I purchased a vinyl copy in the HMV sale and am now spinning for the first time. Absolutely brilliant, wonderful voice and no duff ones on the album.
Another £16.00 well spent.

Thanks for this.....it’s great, a buy for me????
Indeed, very enjoyable stuff and I also have just bought the CD. Nice one Ewe.
BTW, anyone interested in this, the only place I could see it for sale is on the boys own website. Hope I haven’t broken any rules.
Mal Waldron - One entrance, many exits
- Bass – David Friesen
- Drums – Billy Higgins
- Piano – Mal Waldron
- Tenor Saxophone – Joe Henderson
Just dug this out of my CD collection: a much overlooked album but for me, it's their most accessible and superbly produced. It's just made it onto my reference playlist, I think it's that good:
Some jam band tunes. String Cheese Incident - Outside Inside

Indeed. I just had a listen the other day when I came across the LP while unpacking my records. I’d kind of forgotten as well.
Melody Gardot - Worrisome Heart
Smooth, sultry, sexy, sentimental, seductive, slick.
I don't think the reviews were that great when Mick bought out this album but I like it.
Some more music after the footie
Elton John - A Single Man, after I was reminded of "Song For Guy".

Jagger is not alone in releasing patchy solo material, but I find enough to enjoy in his albums. At least it appears a decent amount of effort goes into them
(2008)
Calexico - Carried To Dust
The arrangements are a bit dull to my taste, but perhaps I have to retry in the right mood...
Jeff Beck - Performing This Week...
I really don't play this anymore. But I've just surprised myself with just how good it is. What fantastic tones Jeff manages to extract from his Stratocaster. He conveys so much emotion. It's like the guitar is talking to the audience. Ignoring the effects, I'm certain that playing with fingers rather than a pick really helps.
This is a version which adds someth8ng to the mass of recordings which is already on the market.

Excellent album ????
The 6th of January is my birthday so I was fascinated by this website which attempts to go through 1959 day by day, listing significant jazz events. Muriel Roberts (06/01) sounds like a classy, unfairly forgotten, pianist.
Bill Wyman - Bill Wyman.

Bert - where did you download it from?
Colin James - Miles To Go
A fine album and another thank you to Ewen for the recommendation.

Listening to this on Tidal. Very nice. Great shout Erich.
Update: Just plucked a very good pre loved example of this out on the big river for a very few squid. Don’t you just love this thread and t’internet!
Came across this on Tidal, very enjoyable compilation of George and Ira’s songbook.
and also finding other artists I have to investigate further such as Blossom Dearie.

Grant Green - Grant's First Stand, as I started the day with him ,it seems suitable to also finish with this album.
