On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Eurythmics - We Too Are One, one of their albums with a heavier rock sound.Always thought David A Stewart an underrated guitarist.
The xx - eponymous
It's been a long day, this is perfect.

Thought I was the only one with the One On One album. I have owned it for many, many years and I think it is just sumptuous. It is so relaxing but engaging at the same time.
I used to own the album when I had a LP12 but now have the ripped CD version. It is still remains a fine recording though.
I think it was this album that got me into Earl Klugh and Bob James as individual artists.

I have the album along with a few more Bob James albums. Great music????
Sun Ra and his Arkestra feat. Pharoah Sanders & Black Harold
I was streaming this earlier on and decided to buy the vinyl. Although recorded in 1964, it was not released until 1976 and the original album is up for grabs for over a grand. No good! There is a 2017 reissue by Superior Viaduct and I wonder if anyone has it and what they think of the pressing. Cheers.

Where did you get that Bert? Seems to be on pre-order at Qobuz UK for 1st Feb and tracks limited to 30 sec previews but sounds good.
I got it at the origin at eclassical.com, they also have it like often at reduced price upon introduction 12,69 USD, which even Qobuz will not offer at that price.
Thanks Bert - interestingly I got their email about the offer earlier today - looks a good deal.
And from one Kora player to another:
Sona Jobarteh - Fasiya

The great thing about these artists is that they surrounded themselves, and indeed recorded, with other great artists. Just look at that line up. The end result is…err…the result. Simply great music, beautifully executed.

Now that looks like an absolute belter. I'm off to Tidal, then maybe a swim in the big South American river.
another great recording on Water Lily...
Not so 'nu' now as it was released in 2002. A mixture - some great tracks and a few awful ones.
Vinyl released 2018 - Epic, historical, beautiful folk music, played with care and love, though a tad indulgent for non-fans of folk. ????
Double Bass, Bass [Fender P-Bass] – Ben Nicholls
Fiddle, Whistle – John McCusker
Shaker – Sam Lakeman
Vocals – Cara Dillon
Vocals, Keyboards, Guitar – John Smith
Mark Knopfler - Sailing to Philadelphia
Have always loved the way his songs are about something, from his earliest days.
Bill Evans - Time Remembered
I've been playing this album quite a lot lately. It includes the first pieces he recorded after the loss of Scott LaFaro as well as the remaining tracks from Shelly's Manne Hole which didn't make it on that album. That doesn't imply that the tracks on here are any less exceptional, far from it. The >10 minute solo version of Danny Boy which opens the album is so filled with emotion.
Playing on Compact Disc - Very dry funny life observational songs from The Fabulous Eeels from 2005.
