Kings of Convenience - Declaration of Dependance
Years ago I visited a turntable-dealer where I heard an album of "Kings of Convenience". Later on I saw them again on this forum and thought it wouldn't hurt to get some of their work. Glad I did!

I grew up with some Ry Cooder albums and collect most of his work since a few years, so this should not be missing.
I'm listening to it more and more and it's growing on me. Steel Guitar Heaven is a fav.

Many years ago a friend put "The Nightfly" on his dad's turntable and infected me with that sound. Now some time ago I started to collect the Steely Dan records as well. "The Nightfly" stays number one to my ears and taste.

Well it's by Santana, his earlier work and my father has it, so it must be good ( Big Grin )

The Remastered Version and it does not "sound" very well unfortunately. A bit thin, but that happens to more of their recordings. Not a favorite anyway; just to collect

Great for special moods, but the soundquality is even worse than that of the Steely-album Frown

The type of record you need to listen to from beginning to end. And there's not been enough time to listen to this, because I heard Porcupine Tree - In Absentia after I got this disc and that sounded better up until now. So In Absentia is on order also... This album needs some time to grow on me, when I let it

On order:

Already had Coma Divine and was looking for more. Saw this on the forum and thought it was very coherent and powerfull. So had to have it.

Many years ago I bought "Night Ride Home" without listening to it first (scored high in a hifi mag.). I hated it then, started loving it a few years ago and "Court and Spark" sounds great too. So had to order (seen on this forum!)

Never heard of 'till seen on this forum. Listened to it and... I really like it!

It could well be that the other two albums of The Kings of Convenience will be ordered too, because I like the relaxed sound of them. A bit (lot) like Simon and Garfunkel Cool

Nope! I have all of them except 1 and 6 and like them all.
The new sampler7 is very good and could easily release some of those tracks into the UK charts.
Any fans of Miles Davis must hear/own the alternative version of Blue in Green performed by Hobgood/Torff/Wertico on the True Stereo sampler.

Just ordered the King Crimson ITCOFTCK newly remastered by Fripp and Porcupine Tree. Pleasantly surprised how cheap it is for a two disc set.

Shawn Colvin - Live

I've got several of her studio albums but the live CD is the best I've heard by some margin.

So natural - just her voice and guitar.

'Taken By Trees' East of Eden.

Sort of Nitin Sawhney asian/pop fusion with Swedish female vocalist. Should not work but is rather nice actually.

I take it that's not the fiddle-led prog band from 1970s then? [The Jig-A-Jig lot]
