I have two of their original albums on (s/hand) vinyl and like their style.

This is completely different. It is, in effect, a concept album about the city. Very nice production too. I love the guy's voice and that distinctive Hammond sound.

To my mind it (the album)shows the beginning of acid jazz.

Just bought 7 of the Bealtes remasters and I think they're superb. Wish I'd got them sooner. Hope to complete the collection very soon.
