Jeff Ciampa's 'House of Mirrors'. Just arrived at via parcel from the US at the end of last week. Did not have the time to listen to it yet. Mark Egan and Danny Gottlieb are the rhythm section.

Also in the same parcel: Jeff Ciampa's 'Signs of Life'. Mark Egan on bass again.

Ron Trent - Altered States (US Prescription). one of the best house tunes of all time gets a CD release, complete with that fantastic Carl Craig mix. K-Alexi mix is also superb. Some of my most missed tunes since the vinyl went.

430 West presents Detroit Calling mixed by Lawerence Burden. (Concept). Allways loved the 430 West stuff never overstated, just finds that groove and thats all you need. Many Octave One classics superbly mixed.

Galaxy 2 Galaxy - A Hi Tech Jazz Compilation (US Underground Resistance). The best UR stuff for me. Housier and deeper from their earlier days. Finally got a copy (used).

is it me or does Nat look rather cross and in the middle of a row. Perhaps she's left her sleep?

Anyway, Josh Rouse presents El Turista. Best album since Nashvile.

After seeing him live 10 days ago I realized that despite having 4 of his albums I had none of his trio music.

Just in from E-Bay, at £2 it seemed churlish NOT to buy it:-

Thanks for the heads-up on this. I'd rather lost faith in him with the latter albums. Might check out the new one.

Waiting for me when I got home tonight.

Have you played yet Matt,I was very disappointed
with it, after all the rave reviews in the music press & the weekend papers! "No Tears To Cry" was the only one that stood out for me!but even that left a nagging doubt I had heard it all before. It sound like a track from the Atlantic Soul records from the late 60s.

Only once. I sure hope this one is a grower because I am a bit underwhelmed at first listen. I will set it aside until the weekend and listen again.

Last try before I accept that I'm in the wrong place with this stuff.

Four Tet - There Is Love In You. Lovely trixy blend of house and electonica. Clever with beauty...to me.
