Hi EJ,

My first KdF was Helmut Walcha's fabulous version on organ which got me hooked into more versions!

I have not yet listened to this Akademie fur Alte Musik version but having just read the review on amazon it looks very tempting to say the least....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
....Musicians like teasing out the contrapuntal glories of Bach s Art of Fugue in different instrumentations, and the mix of sounds from this crack Berlin ensemble is particularly lively. Whether in solos, trios, quartets or a combined mass of 22, the players beaver away on strings, winds and harpsichord, illuminating the interwoven threads and adding useful spice to music that plays for more than an hour in the same key. The CD cover s bright abstract blocks, akin to a Mondrian painting, could not be more appropriate. --The Times
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I hope the audition has the wonderful strange fascination for you as i find myself with this most intriguing composition.

Please let me know how you feel about it : )

Debbie,

Thanks, will do. Your many postings of different recordings inspired me to go out and get it. My record dealer recommended me this particular recording.
