One of the greatest operas ever penned, no matter which version. Great recordings are thin on the ground, my favorites remain the old Christoff/Cluytens and, for general ensemble if not Boris himself, Abbado. Looking forward to getting to know this one, with the Italian Ruggero Raimondi in a famed performance.
