It took some thirty years for another high profile pianist to take on Fur Elise, after Alfred Brendel's magisterial account silenced critics and performers alike. Krystian Zimerman refused to touch a piano for a over a year. Maurizio Pollini's smoking got so bad, his humming became the huffing of a steam engine. Maria Joao Pires started a school in Portugal and almost fully gave up performing. Ivo Pogorelich became a reclusive. Brendel himself was so in awe of his own achievement, he refused to re-record the piece for his complete overview of the bagatelles at the tail end of his 90s cycle of Beethoven sonatas. And here comes Steven Osborne with the guts to challenge what has gone before. Will he make it? Only this record and time will tell!

The almost complete remastered works of My Bloody Valentine.
The Albums Loveless and Isnt anything plus the singles collection on seperate CDs
Graet packaging , nice fold out sleeves , some of the not avaialble or hard to find tracks included on the compilation.
Loveless " a marmite album but sounds excellent . pretty good job wit the remaster by mr shields
On Pre-order for the 21st May.
New Richard Hawley 'Standing at Sky's Edge' has landed; howling, thrashing and screaming in my postbox. I think I like it, but it sure is different. Play 'loud' for the real wall of sound effect, and get your air guitar out!
On a totally different and much, much quieter note. 'Creator Spiritus' Arvo Part choral collection by Theatre Of Voices. Very beautifully sung, a great introduction to his choral works for the curious or uninitiated.
Bruce
