Jellyfish - Live at Bogart's 1991

If Kuma is reading this, it's available on vinyl @ Amazon & http://omnivorerecordings.com/shop/

First official live Jellyfish album—ever! This set was recorded in 1991 at Bogart’s (hence the clever title) in Long Beach, California while the band were on tour supporting their debut album Bellybutton. Get it now on CD or as a double LP with three sides of music and one side with laser-etched art. The first 1,500 copies pressed on translucent blue vinyl, and black thereafter.

Here's a review from PopMatters

Denis,

I would want it etched in blood for £49.

Its not that good a album for that money imo.

One for the completest me thinks.

Thanks for the heads up as always though.

Stu,

That's why I only bought the CD from Amazon (US) for £12.23 inc shipping. Cheaper in $ for US folks of course.

As they say here - "If you like Jellyfish"...

Its only taken two years for the pre-order.

And a terrific album it is too Denis. So good live. Only problem is it makes me want to tear out the hair I don't have in frustration. Two albums. Stupid stupid stupid. Sniffle.

Gary,

I share your Jellyfish pain & sadness. since their demise I have followed Jason Falkner and of course all things Bleu (the power-pop steven wilson) and I keep my radar pointed here

http://powerpopsquare.blogspot.co.uk/ for new power-pop developments

In the meantime, after I saw Gavin Harrison reminiscing on facebook about recording 'Stop' with Sam Brown, I have ordered two other CD's instead from Sam's own web shop...

Sweet Billy Pilgrim - We Just Did What Happened and No One Came

Their first album bought for £10 @ last night's gig. Played twice, very good and getting better. There are not many bands who release their first three album's and not one a duffer. This is my opinion of course and reserve the right to be correct

Mary Chapin Carpenter: Ashes To Roses. Low key, nothing too surprising but the overall effect is rather lovely.

Great Lakes Swimmers: New Wild Everywhere. Uninspired. Last album was much better.

The Pond (eponymous), Kathryn Williams and friends folkie/world mixture. Not all successful but worth a punt.

....and from the classic albums thread I have finally been worn down by the eulogising over Basia Bulat and ordered a copy. I did listen to the Steve Wilson on Grooveshark but it was not for me.

Mike Keneally "Wing Beat Fantastic: Songs written by Mike Keneally & Andy Partridge"

$15.00 USD

RELEASE DATE: JULY 24, 2012. PRE-ORDER NOW!

This magical new album from composer/producer/multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Mike Keneally is the highly anticipated result of a songwriting union between the famed rock experimentalist and legendary XTC tunesmith Andy Partridge.   Their collaboration produced eight new songs, combining Partridge’s innate sense of angular pop melody and beautifully intelligent poeticism with Keneally’s experimental bent and surrealist tendencies. For Partridge fanatics, the album will be a trove of rare new material from a songwriter who’s released precious little new work over the past decade. For Keneally enthusiasts, Wing Beat Fantastic represents his most melodic and pop-oriented release ever, while still maintaining the rich, detail-studded arrangements, love of sonic adventurism and superb musicianship for which he is renowned.

Listen to Little Wing Beat, a collection of song snippets from Wing Beat Fantastic!
