All,

EST -- Seven Days of Falling. A couple of listenings in and I think it's very good.

King Crimson -- Thrak. Anno 30 Remaster. Really, really good. I'm quite happy about this one.

Centro-Matic -- South San Gabriel. A good album from a lesser known alt. country band. Will Johnson's an original songwriter. Sonics are good.

ps -- did I mention these are all good? Big Grin

_Drive-By Truckers - Southern Rock Opera:_

Nick, the subsequent albums Decoration Day and The Dirty South are excellent as well, and have some stuff by the "new" guitar player Jason Isbell, who joined in late 2001 after the recording of SRO. Jason is quite simply a 23- year-old-Warren Haynes-clone without being totally derivative, if that makes sense. On the Dirty South, I program his four self-pennend songs and it is just sublime. Seems like the Truckers were going to be in England/Europe right around now. Maybe check out www.drivebytruckers.com and check my memory.

good listenin'

A amall package from Amazon:

Wilco - A ghost is born - not enjoying this as much as their last one (Yankee...).

The Kinks - Are the Village Green Preservation Society - I was vaguely aware of this the first time round but was more into Beefheart/Jimi Hendrix and the Bonzos to fully appreciate it. A lost classic.

Elliott Smith - From a Basement on a Hill - a sad record.

Trashcan Sinatras - Weightlifting - haven't played this enough to give an opinion.

Don't try this at home children:

Blue Man Group: "Complex"

A bunch of blokes covered in blue paint bashing the hell out of long PVC pipes fronted by superb guest singers.

Absolutely wonderful! Refreshes the parts other rock groups cannot reach. (And wouldn't dare try) Smile
