so to get things off and running
queen--the highlander sound track
After hearing The Rake's Song on NPR's Spotify list of 13 songs for 13 years of All Songs Considered, I ordered a couple from The Decemberists...

Also stumbled across The Dunwells, from Leeds, on FB this morning...

Calexico: Algiers 2 CD special edition
The XX: Coexist
Splendid delivery!
Four new arrivals:
- Zimerman's Beethoven set with Bernstein:
- Isabelle Faust's completion of the Bach solo sonatas and partitas:
- The Arcanto's follow-up to my 2010 disc of the year. The Arcanto Quartett are not a full time ensemble: they're soloists coming together to play the greatest music they would otherwise not be able to touch - and are extremely good at it. Its most famous members are Tabea Zimmermann on viola and Jean-Guihen Queyras on cello.
- And last but not least: Decca's new Rosenkavalier (actually taken from a 2009 production that was already available on video):
Cheers,
EJ

First impression it’s a very long CD.

Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 1 in C major Op.15 / Bagatelles Op. 126

Thanks to Kuma's recent thread, I enjoyed his Szymanowski and Chopin disks so took a punt on this, so far I think I prefer Bishop on Vinyl but this needs some more listens, the bagatelles are fun though.
Faure - Complete Piano Works

I have Vol 2 of Crochet's set on VOX (vinyl) and the first half of Vol 1 on Turnabout but both have groove damage and this set was cheap, first 2 discs are quite promising.

Texas Troubadour - Townes Van Zandt. 4 CDs 8 albums (costing peanuts) of very interesting music if Americana is your thing.

Schubert Piano Sonata D958: Andsnes/Bostridge
