Kuma, I hope you like them...you deserve a few good performances by now! I haven't heard this set, but Uchida recorded two superb discs of late Beethoven sonatas.

Cheers,

Managed to track down a mint copy of Beethoven's Op.111, in Arrau's second recording for Philips, made in 1985, when he was 82 years old. He was well on his way with recording the entire body of 32 sonatas when he passed away in '91, but I don't think he completed the project. Not sure, I have a hard time finding all the discs, they haven't been in print for a long time and I don't have a catalogue. One at a time!

Cheers,

EJ

Most recent new stuff was 'Sounds That Can't Be Made' by Marillion - a welcome return to their very best form.

Bought many second hand CDs lately, on line, at very cheap rates. Mostly out of prints, but some original issues of CDs which I already have but where I fancy the original cover. It's a good time for collectors on a budget...

I guess HiFi Shops have been using this album for years for demo, so with my opening fast approaching I thought I'd better bag a copy, have to say Hotel California sounds absolutely amazing, need to get the DVD now

If you are demoing a CD using the HFO, get the XRCD version.

It's sound the best for the Redbook.

This sure was damn popular in the 90s at hifi show along with the soundtrack from the Gradiator.
