Oh dear... another hot young pianist tackles the mount everest of piano literature: Liszt's b-minor sonata. Pacini made an excellent impression with her Schumann and Mozart concerto disc, so look forward to hearing what she makes of less outwardly virtuosic music.

Cheers,

Glenn Gould: A State of Wonder The Complete Goldberg Variations 1955 & 1981

I have both versions on the vinyl but curious to hear the '81 version remaster included in this CD. What makes it interesting is that they went back to the original analogue tape rather than using the digital master ( since the digital recording was so new, Sony was running both the digital and analogue recorder for this session just in case )

I recall when this CD came out there was a lot of talk about how great this CD sounds compare to the previous vinyl and CD releases. Well, I'll get to compare with the original CBS digital vinyl which I think it sounds pretty good.

Has anyone listened to this 18 year old kid?

Is he the next Backhaus!?

Since I have been on Chopin Scherzo kick, decided to see how he does.
