Adrian,
how do you like the "Sangam" CD ? "Different Rivers" leaves me with mixed emotions, and "Sangam" is on my "possible purchase" list, but haven't heard it, yet.

Best regards, freundliche Grüße

"Picture Book" is currently being used in a TV commercial (for HP I think, the computer one, not the sauce one). Great song. I should check this album out.

Most recent CD's are:

Neil Young - Mystery Train. An interesting compilation with some interesting covers.

Sarah McLachlan - Afterglow Live. Great sounding CD, included DVD seems to have lip sync problems but the sound is good.

I just borrowed the "Afterglow" CD after hearing a fascinating interview with Sarah on Danish radio. She sounds like really nice, intelligent girl. Lots of *real* charity fundraising that are probably unworthy of global media mention.

A telling moment was when she was asked about the pop starlets of the moment. Jennifer Lopez is on every magazine cover and in many of them as well. While Sarah hardly ever gets a mention in the glossy media.
JL sells only 2 million records worldwide. While Sarah sells 8 million. Smile

Columbia Records Radio Hour Volume 1 - Great live recordings of performances by Bruce Cockburn, Rob Wasserman, James McMurty, Jules Shear, Shawn Colvin, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Darden Smith, Dennis McDermott, Rosanne Cash, David Byrne, John Leventhal, Zev Katz, Peter Himmelman, Leonard Cohen and Lou Reed.

Anyone know if a Volume 2 or 3 exists?

As often, excellent purchases, Adrian...

Have listened to Vince Mendoza, and - am not sure whether I liek it. The orchestra is at times too sweet for my taste. The Jazz musicians sound marvellous, but not always challenging. A bit like "Oregon in Moscow"

Micus: Curious to hear your opinion. I like it a lot, even if it's a bit "esoteric"

Also interested in feedback about:
"Eternal"
and
"Translinear Light"

Best regards, freundliche Grüße

Don Byron - ivey-divey (sounded great in the car on the way home

Gianluigi Trovesi Ottetto - Fugace

Stefan - I owe you some reviews as requested however what with spending too much time in the office, the Sydney summer and buying more silver discs that I can properly listen to, I have not done in depth listening on the discs you requested. Therefore I will give you my initial thoughts on first listen -

Alice Coltrane - Translinear Light - thumbs up

Branford Marsalis - Eternal - thumbs up

Trygve Seim - Sangam - thumbs down

Cheers
