This complete set of instrumental works for large forces by J. S. Bach represents, for the ensemble Café Zimmermann and for Alpha, the fruit of ten years’ work and research. The great care taken over each volume – in the choice of musicians and instruments, of recording venue and acoustics, with the fullness and balance of sound perfectly controlled by Hughes Deschaux and Aline Blondiau so that each instrument can be heard clearly – has made this six-volume set into an absolute reference. It is presented here at a reasonable price, but without sacrificing the editorial quality of the project. The CDs come with full liner notes, and the booklets are now available in three languages, English, French and German.

This is an very good set, IMO. I bought mine from MDT in mid-March when it was slightly more expensive at £37:65. I'm really enjoying the few Alpha titles I have to date - I'm waiting on a mega-order from Presto who currently have many of them at £10 each.

Yes they are good albums , bizarrely first track of Black light won't rip or play on iMac, OK in CDSII.

I have Bowie's 1978 live album "Stage" on vinyl, but I also wanted the 1999 EMI Abbey Road remaster which has extra tracks and which restores the songs to the correct order.
However, for a quid more than buying the CD, I could have this:
Four Bowie albums on CD (all '99 remasters) for just £12.47. Bit of a no-brainer really. Came today.
A bit of a Bowie afternoon beckons I think...
I have Bowie's 1978 live album "Stage" on vinyl, but I also wanted the 1999 EMI Abbey Road remaster which has extra tracks and which restores the songs to the correct order.
However, for a quid more than buying the CD, I could have this:
Four Bowie albums on CD (all '99 remasters) for just £12.47. Bit of a no-brainer really. Came today.
A bit of a Bowie afternoon beckons I think...

Nice talking to you just now, 'twas a nice surprise. The tracks on this CD that aren't on vinyl are "Alabama Song", "Be My Wife" and "Stay". The fades between tracks have also been removed. Much better!
