Elton John. Honkey Chateau recorded 1972. The MOFI gold disc was done in 1990. I picked this up s/h today. My first MFSL in CD format and it sounds very nice. Noticeably black background, good impact to the percussion, and solid, if not slightly elevated bass. I'm comparing it to my Uni vinyl pressing. The vinyl has a sweeter roll-off on the cymbals and a bit less heft on percussion and bass. It's a well recorded LP and both formats are very pleasing. I think I will play both equally.

This has always been my go-to version of the Boccherini. How did you like it?

Realising that I had no Carpenters in the collection I picked this off a shelf at Tesco's for £3 while last minute shopping for nibbles and bits. It has now been ripped (Zoneripper using dBpoweramp / perfect rip) and is in a play queue to be streamed while I knock up some wild mushroom soup.
