Arrived this morning. 

 

October 30th, 1968 in  the Fairfield Hall, Croydon, live concert recording.

 

Marvellous, and sadly now deleted from the BBC Legends series - the whole series has been axed ...

 

There are new copies available for £211, but mine was a mint used one for a tenth ...

 

Worth my getting it for sure.

 

I would take a view of not at hundreds though!

 

I have some others in the series, so I may sell them!

 

Boult playing the Great C Major for example. I have returned to the Klemperer EMI set for this  one.

PS : I also have Boulanger's HMV recording from 1948 of the Requiem, and I cannot see that ever leaving, nor this BBC performance ...

The sonic from the BBC CD is very fine, but the youtube gives something of a hint.
