Thanks Deb.

I am the other way around.

I'd rather listen to  a kick arse performance on a bad pressing than a middle of the road performance in good fidelity. ( latter just put me to sleep or start doing something else )

All my Kempeff's Beethoven Sonatas are from 60s stereo recording. I'm gonna pick up a few of his Decca monos.

But I agree that botched digital remixes are not easy on ears.

Frank Zappa: Live in New York (CD version with Punky's Whips).  I'm waiting for this to arrive from the USA. Have had the double vinyl without Punky's for ages.

Have also recently got Rattle and Hum and No Line On the Horizon, and the Little Feat 13 CD retrospective Rad Gumbo.

Another new release.

Get my self familiarised with Elgar Cello Concerto. I do not know this Cello player but I do like this conductor from Paul Lewis' Beethoven Concerto Cycle.

Jean-Guihen is a new kid on the block and I like his tone.
