Picked up a copy of The Scottish Label's 40th Anniversary Sampler today - it's been a fascinating listen with a huge amount of variety and given me a few new musical avenues to consider exploring.
I'm not aware of Naim having produced anything equivalent last year - did I miss it?

Frank Zappa's Roxy by Proxy has finally landed, CD and download only (from the Zappa website). It's a longer and better version of the Roxy and Elsewhere double LP recorded live (no overdubs, no edits) in 1979. Originally recorded on 2" analog tape, 16 track 30-ips and it sounds like yesterday. It's a 3 in one, one of the best live LPs ever and is already one of the best releases of 2014 too, all IMHO. Treat yourselves!
Cheers John
Slight correction, Roxy was recorded in 1973, the 'duplicate' tracks from Roxy and Elsewhere are different versions, recorded from the same set of gigs. A double drum solo too! The booklet with notes from percussionist Ruth Underwood are fascinating. First full listen in the car driving from Bristol to London last night, second on the return journey tonight, can't wait...
