Hi Bert where did you get the high res from?
Jimi Hendrix. Somewhere. Limited edition, individually numbered CD "single".
The a-side, "Somewhere" was recorded March 13, 1968 with Stephen Stills on bass and Buddy Miles on drums.
The b-side, "Foxey Lady," was a previously unreleased Band of Gypsys performance recorded live at the Fillmore East on January 1, 1970.
From Oxfam:-
Sadly it's a CD-R, so will be going back.
only 99 euros - a treat...
Should arrive either today or tomorrow...
Just bought this on Qobuz - 24 bit
This is a great sounding big band CD with some modern arrangements and great players. I heard it on the radio and found it on Spotify. Well worth seeking out.
This album has great music but so-so sound for the first half. The second half sounds great. I think there is a fuzz tone on the first half. My wife is a big Aimee Mann fan so we had to have it.
I never would have bought this on my own but I read about it in Stereophile. It is a great soundtrack at home and even more fun on a family road trip.

Hi Denis - I LOVE that WDD album. Where did you see him, and what did you think? Was it a full band gig or solo piano?
Hi Kevin,
The gig was William D. Drake & Stars In Battledress @ Westminster Kingsway College.
https://www.evensi.com/william...r-kingsway/115064525
It was the first time I'd seen both bands, having only heard tracks from the Steve Davis, 'Interesting Alternative Show'. Stars In Battledress are, James & Richard Larcombe and their new album - In Droplet Form, has already been tipped as Steve's album of the year in Prog Magazine. With just Piano & Guitar the brothers play beautiful, odd time signatures and their music just grows on you.
S I B then joined as members of William's band, just as on 'The Rising Of The Lights'. The band played a few songs from 'Rising', but mostly new songs from his new album, out later this year. There was a music hall / Bonzo's feel to the songs at times and again 'Beauty' came to the fore in the excellent songwriting on display. I must say that William is a really accomplished Pianist, with his classical training shining through.
A really enjoyable evening that would have been better if the college allowed a later curfew, which is around 8.50 PM
