Was unfortunately to quick and bought the CD version - I should have waited for the high res one (not knowing at that point in time that one would become available).

the links are somewhat confusing as there are two albums listed one of which is CD only and the other is CD and HighRes, and when clicking on the album cover of the high res version you are redirected to the CD-quality only version.

but don't despair, it should normally be possible to upgrade a CD-version to a highres version when available for just the price difference between the two.

in the overview of albums you bought there should be a button to upgrade when there is also a high res version available. If not I have found their helpdesk most helpfull with these sort of issues.

Shelby Lynne - I Am Shelby Lynne

Posted on: 25 June 2014 by Stevee_S

"The two disks include 16th century lute music to 20th century guitar works and everything in between. The recordings were made over several years in the 50's and 70's in various recording studios, so the quality and production techniques vary (e.g. different types of studio reverb.) But still a great document on the history of the performances of the Great Master, Andres Segovia." Digitally remastered in 2010

I thought I would try this as it's a 2005 remaster of (mainly) 2 albums, Crime of The Century and Breakfast in America .

Each new Hiromi album quickly becomes my favorite!  If you enjoy modern, piano-led jazz/fusion, this one's a beauty!

Hi,

Thanks for the tip. This would work for some of the albums - but this one I actually bought in physical format :-(...... But good tip anyhow.

Cheers,

Bob Dylan : The Bootleg Series, Vols. 1-3 (Rare & Unreleased) 1961-1991

“This three-disc box set is what Dylanphiles have been waiting for, sitting patiently for years, even decades. And, even after its 1991 release, it retains the feeling of being a special, shared secret among the hardcore, since -- no matter the acclaim -- it's the kind of record that only the hardcore will seek out. Of course, the great irony is that even casual Dylan fans will find much to treasure in this three-disc set of unreleased material. They'll find songs as good as anything that made the records (sometimes surpassing the official releases, especially on the last disc), plus alternate versions (including original versions of songs on Blood on the Tracks) and long-fabled songs, from the incomplete "She's Your Lover Now" to songs cut from The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan. This doesn't just function as an alternate history of Dylan, but as an expansion of Dylan's history, enriching what is already known about the greatest songwriter of his era -- after all, every song here would qualify as the best song on anybody else's album. And that's no exaggeration”.

The review says it all. Ripped to ALAC.

Lucinda Williams - West

Love Car wheels on a gravel road.

Which links nicely to Lucinda Williams' one-time producer and all round singer, songwriter and multi-instumentalist.

I really like this album and 'Last Exit to Happyland'. 'Blanket' on 'Diamonds' (dedicated to Warren Zevon) with gorgeous harmony vocals by Patty Griffin is particularly touching and lovely.

Fazil Say's new Beethoven Piano Concerto 3 & Sonatas recording.
One of a few *living* piano player I admire.

I appreciate his unique creative talent.
