I liked the BBC Sessions enough that I thought I'd give these Jimis a try. New in the CD bargain bin for $5 each and unlike vinyl I can play these on the boombox in my shop.

Dudamel's mahler 7th.

Released just last October. Curious to hear a newer take on this score.

Ridiculously inexpensive 3 CD box set spanning Harry Nilsson's career. £2.96

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Playback. 6 HDCD set from 1995. Sonically superb and a fun selection of Petty's popular tracks, along with outtakes, live recordings, B-sides, and some Mudcrutch music. Highly recommended for Petty fans and is available used online for less than $20.

Replacing this previously "lost" album.

Pond - Man It Feels Like Space Again

Aussie psychedelia - in the same vein as King Gizzard & The Wizard Lizard* and first cousins to Tame Impala. Very good musically (and that's what really counts), but don't expect demonstration-class sound - this is very much like early Aerial Pink releases.

* and if you don't know King Gizzard, then check this out (yes, there are four guitarists, two drummers and a bass) - really starts to cook after 4 or so minutes.

Thanks to Quad 33. What a cracker!

Litmus - Planetfall

OK Space Cadets, strap yourself in for more Hawkwindesque pounding. This fits in between their first (You Are Here) and third albums (Aurora). Same rules apply, but here the synth player has come out top and he tends to dominate with a cluster of sounds that sound like a Rain Forest full of psychotic birds.

Thus Under The Sign (Part One)

And Part Two

In The Dark With You

Bought this today for less than a tenner (bargain). The best album of 1982, reissued on 2 CDs, the original LP augmented with two superb Peel sessions, various singles and compilation tracks.

Lovely stuff.

Ooo, that's interesting. Sextet is a wonderful album.

It is available on LP too Nigel, but they didn't have any copies left in the shop I was in.

I just would advise you to get the complete Decca set for a decent price, at least in Euros it is - this set includes this specific album, unless you where looking for Vinyl, I don't know if the same box set is available in Vinyl.

Apparently well remastered I could not believe being able to pick this good looking 11 CD box set up for just over £14.

A friend gave me the Laughing Len box set (Amazon sent him two!). I loved rediscovering the first few, was somewhat underwhelmed by the middle few. Really like the last lot.

Whenever I hear anything from the first album I'm instantly a teenager, playing The Rock Machine Turns You On over and over, listening to a window to another world. Best sampler EVER!

Bruce Springsteen. Tracks. A 4 HDCD box set from 1998. Sixty-six outtakes, alternates, demos, and b-sides. I've been enjoying the highlights CD called "18 Tracks" and decided to get the full complement. $18 delivered to my door. The set is nicely packaged and the discs are easy to remove. Good documentation with full credits and lyrics. Never a better time to buy CDs.
