You've seen the light?

Or maybe you just want an escape from smileys and inane drivel...

Perhaps you're right. Then again, the way I get ribbed about my music tastes at the shop, perhaps I've just been reticent about letting people know my tastes. It's somehow more intimate than HiFi.

And I have no idea what most people talk about in here most of the time anyway.

And the wife won't let me expand my collection significantly until we have figured out where to store any more acquisitions.

That's the great thing about the music room; I've discovered quite a bit of new music through it.

Have to order now one or two of the albums Mekon mentioned on the 'latest vinyl' threat.

I take a few discs out to the car each morning, return home with a few extra - no one notices!! Actually the missus is pretty ok with the CD's - never get compliants - as long as she is well looked after!! It has also become a bit of a joke with our postman about the number of packages arriving from around the world from Amazon.

Think I might go into go slow mode for a while - got a lot of catch up listening to do.

The Greatest White Liar, Nic Armstrong & the Thieves

Just got this yesterday, have listened to it only once, so this is an initial impression. It was recorded at the same studio the White Stripes record at, which is an all-analog tape facility, very retro. And it sounds it; very 1965. Great drum sound. "Broken Mouth Blues" features Bill Wyman-style fuzz bass. Nic has obviously listened to a lot of old Stones, Yardbirds and Them; TGWL even sports a cover of "Down Home Girl" by the Stones, arranged to sound a bit like "Sunshine Superman". I think I may grow to love this album, it could be to mid-60's British R&B what the Stray Cats were to rockabilly. There's a contemporary edge to it though, so fans of bands like Jet should take to it as well. am waiting to see if the new Oasis album can rise to the challenge.

Robert Plant - Mighty Rearranger - I think this is excellent - liked it on the first play and will certianly get a lot of airing

Ralph Towner - Blue Sun - beautiful piece of solo work showing just how talented this guy is.

Ralph Towner - Open Letter

Ralph Towner - City of Eyes

Egberto Gismonti - Danca Dos Escravos

Jan Garbarek - Photo With Blue Sky, White Cloud, Wires, Windows and A Red Roof - really liked this and the title is a very good description of the front cover

Agnes Buen Garnas/Jan Garbarek - Rosenfole

Rush - Moving Pictures

The entire Led Zeppelin Catalogue from CD-WOW for £90!!!

Had most of them on vinyl as a teenager (early 80's), but listening to the re-mastered recordings (some one found the open-reel masters, so I here) you realise that the craftsmanship of the band has never really been bettered.

And I'm from Dudley, 3 miles from where Planty grew up. No Black Country jibes please!!

As Lenny Henry used to say - BOST'IN!

Moorcheeba - Antidote. I thought it might be pants following the departure of Skye but I was wrong. The album is excellent compared to previous material.

If you like um buy it!!!
