Doug,

We are going to start a new topic just for you: WHAT WERE THE LAST THOUSAND CDS YOU BOUGHT? At the rate you are going we expect you to post at least twice a month..

Posted on: 15 April 2017 by Florestan

Haim, sorry, I'm done.  Had to get it out of my system.  Plus, I like to receive something in the mail once in a while - OK, every day!

I know I have promised you for what may be years already but shortly I am going to go out and start taking some photos again.  One day maybe I'll be good enough to post something next to you and the others here in the Nice Photos!

Would recommend Trifonov or Goerner, if you would ask, but havn't done right now.

Posted on: 16 April 2017 by Florestan

Do you mean Gerstein rather than Goerner or someone else?

I've just made the rather large investment in this limited edition box set of Steve Hillage. It had to be done!

Hi Steve i have this one with blue label/gold disc, is your the same ? What about Brilliant Trees, is the '03 digipack edition?

Roberto

Hi Roberto, no I don't believe that mine is the blue label/gold disc that you have. However it hasn't arrived yet so I'm not 100% sure. Yes, Brilliant Trees is the '03 digipack edition but this has not arrived yet either so I shall have to wait to confirm. I continue to enjoy seeing the ancient music you are buying, there don't seem to be many of us into that genre on this forum.

Best wishes and Happy Easter

Steve

Roberto, that is some collection of this album that you have! My '86 original is (like yours) just thirteen tracks long so that it could fit on to a single CD but I see that all the later editions you have bought are of the full album (as it was intended) double vinyl / double CD. Apart from the additional tracks and remixed tracks is the sound quality any different on these later editions?

Replacing lost material (again). This one is the Atlantic label 1991 (excellent) Joe Gastwirt remaster.

Hi Steve,

Honestly i don't remember differences for this specific album, probably i have never played  the cardboard Jap edition, however last year i did a comparison on Japan- Gentleman Take Polaroids with following editions

https://www.discogs.com/Japan-...oids/release/1850458

https://www.discogs.com/Japan-...roids/release/191411

https://www.discogs.com/Japan-...oids/release/1850550

My favourite was the last Jap edition, the former '84 Virgin edition, was dull and shut in
