Complete solo piano works in opus order
Romanza: Anna Netrebko | Yusif Eyvazov
Pre-Order
Josquin | Victoria: John Potter
Secret History
Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach: Alexei Lubimov (harpsichord)
Tangere (Pre-Order)
Not thrilled that Lubimov chose a harpsichord as his keyboard here. I like Lubimov enough that I will get this but I just wish these guys would wake up and if they want to use a keyboard other than a beautiful grand piano then why not give us both as a package and let the listener decide what they prefer?
Brahms: Nelson Freire (piano)
Pre-Order
Bach: Helmut Walcha (harpsichord)
Keyboard Works. Same comment as with Lubimov here. Only because it is Walcha do I bend and accept.
Pre-Order
Debussy: Walter Gieseking (piano)
The Complete Piano Works. A little duplication but still wanted a complete set.
Pre-Order

Somehow not really clicked with me as a whole. Some great moments. Need a good long listen I think, although it feels a bit one paced and actually possibly in need of a bit of trimming. I shall persevere.
Anyone else bought this yet? It was one of my most anticipated buys of the year.
Bruce
I'm receveing it today

Give it time and you'll soon see it as a natural development of the first album. I think it's a tad more refined. The first album had more immediate appeal; this one takes more time and effort, but I think it's worth it.

I agree it has 'bedded in' and I do like it a lot. CD 2 of the deluxe edition is excellent I think, the demo versions are just that bit fresher and I really enjoyed them. Made me feel the main album just lacks a bit of that edge. Touch over-produced at times?
Bruce
2 cd deluxe edition. Pretty good recording with very nice midrange clarity albeit a bit bloated on mid bass if played through S600
