I like it - but my original was scratched on the opening of Money, so I think hearing it again without the noise may be clouring my judgement.

Some more cassette replacements -

Beverly Hills Cop 1 + 2 OST
Malcolm Maclaren - Waltz Darling

Echo and The Bunnymen - Siberia. Ian McCulloch's voice sounds better with age, and good to hear that distinctive Will Sergeant guitar sound with some decent production.

Two "Jazz in Paris" CDs - Stephane Grapelli's Improvisations & Django Reinhardt's Django's Blues. Definitely not the best quality recordings but the music's terrific (and at budget prices!!)

Mass In B Minor, JS Back. K Richter on Arkiv. Heard this years ago at a cousin's house, and made a note to get it. Quite right too. It is more than just very good. A sort of anti-dote to JE Gardiner! Style and spiritual weight combine in a wonderful forward moving momentum on based solely on the idea of bringing out the wonders of the music. Bravo!

Haydn - The complete piano trios - Beaux Arts Trio

Kate Bush - Aerial, definitely not an immediate "wow," but nor instantly bad. Think it will need a few more contemplative listens. Bonus is Rolf Harris on didgeridoo, altogether now "two little boys,..."

Sabine Meyer - Clarinet works by Weber, Mendelssohn and Baermann. A delightful disc, especially the Medelssohn works for clarinet and basset horn

Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings Live. Unfortunately no Gary Brooker or Georgie Fame but still good.

Sheryl Crow "Wildflower" (cd)- terrific pop songs, most written with Pdx resident and long-time co-writer Jeff Trott, lushly produced with strings.

Ben Folds "Songs For Silverman" (dual disc) - Struggling to connect with this hipster male version of Tori Amos (?) - I will keep trying, but as of now, I'll take Tori anyday.

Dashboard Confessional "MTV Unplugged" (cd and music dvd) - 21st century pop for the college crowd, good stuff

And, as part of the "why the heck haven't I been listenin' to more Dylan all these years" phase I am currently experiencing:

Bob Dylan "MTV Unplugged" (music DVD) - amazing!

Bob Dylan "Live At The Gaslight 1962" (cd) - amazing!

Bob Dylan "Live 1975 - "Rolling Thunder Revue" (2 cd) - amazing!

Bob Dylan "No Direction Home - The Soundtrack" (2 cd) - amazing! especially the alternate takes.

Late to the Dylan party, but glad I arrived.

Good listenin'

The Wizard of Is by Pearls Before Swine - interesting and few songs I didn't know, but not as good as Balaclave or Use of Ashes - still Tom Rapp does write good songs.
