Is that the later hybrid SACD or the regular version? I've heard the later hybrid can sound a bit too bright on normal Cd players.

It's the regular version, picked up in a sale at my local Blackwell's bookshop. Though the sound's not over-bright, some of the violin playing sounds a mite 'scratchy' to my ears, compared to my LP version of the work (Virtuosi of England, Arthur Davison/Hugh Bean).

1.The JU JU Orchestra: "Bossa Nova Is Not A Crime" (Great Cover of 'Funky Nassau').

2. Ben Westbeech: "Welcome to the Best Years of Your Life" (This is how Jamiroquai should sound!)

3. The Sweet Vandals

4. Lifesavas: "Gutterfly"

5. The Bamboos: "Rawville" (Is there a better contemporary Funk Band? - Great vocals from Alice Russell (again). As long as Alice continues to belt out such great vocals, I will never understand why there is so much hype surrounding the comparatively mediocre Joss Stone).

6. Dr J Presents 1 Luv: "Neophilia" (Great Title!).

The Twain's one of the best albums of the era, and certainly Eric's best. Perhaps the bagpipes best rock moments too!

Those Repertoire re-issues are excellent as well.

Has anyone here heard the Danny McCullough solo album? It's from not long after The Twain (he and Vic Briggs were sacked not long after and replaced by Zoot Money and Andy Summers of The Police-to-be), and is supposed to be very good. Rarer than hen's teeth and impossible to find downloads of any sort.

John
I looked on there because Repertoire is a German label, so I thought .de might have them.
As my Naim rig is currently disassembled have only heard them via iTunes on myiMac and its HK Soundsticks, but they sound great.

Gary, I'd love to locate that Danny McCullough album too. Pleased to find some more fans of these albums. My dad was an army chaplain, so as a rebellious teenager "Sky Pilot" was a great tune! (Still is, come to that!)
