All bought from Manchester Fopp yesterday. A great shop. It's the first time I've been in since it re-opened and I was pleased it hasn't changed one bit. Smile

Emilie Simon sounds interesting sort of Kate Bush meets Goldfrapp and JMJ. Must investigate more.

Since you ask, Krzysztof Penderecki: "Dies irae oratorio dedicated to the memory of those murdered at Auschwitz" (composed 1967). This is one of the most emotionally searing pieces of music I know - not ideal for accompanying those cheese and wine parties. Its effect is carefully calculated so that the big climax is all the more powerful for its violence and extreme dissonance being relatively unusual in the work. Penderecki's avant garde orchestral writing is brilliantly assured.
(Naxos 8.570450 - album is called "Symphony 8")

Munch,

You got suckered in, but don't worry you won't regret it Winker

You should now be in fear of a blank wallet, especially with more re-issues this year.

Give 'Signify' a try first, it is a lovely album, really starts work a few tracks in with 'Waiting'.

You seem to have there the first, last and middle albums by Porcupine Tree. I would be most interested to hear what you think of them.

If you do not already have it 'In Absentia' is another one to try, as is 'Stupid Dream'. Signify was the start of a real purple patch for them.

And while I am here, my last two CD purchases were the Underworld live albums, London Rounhouse 28 & 29 February 2008, each bought at the gigs about 10 minutes after the encore.
