.... Two great new releases on ECM.

As Play.com are having a £5/cd sale I picked up the following:

Echo and the Bunnymen - Best of 2CD
Simple Minds - Sons and Fasination/Sister Feeling Call
B52s - B52s
The Beat - Best of 2CD

I am looking forward to a late 70's/early 80's evening very soon.

Also ordered Toumani Diabate's Mandi Variations after hearing a track on the excellent Word CD this month.

MilesSmiles - some good choices there. Two of the best ECM releases of the year so far.

Hi GML,

If you like Lightbulb Sun then you will like 'Stupid Dream' which prededed it. This pair of albums are PT's most songbased releases and not a duff track. Look here for comments and samples.

Thanks Denis, I'll have a listen. I also liked what I've heard of 'We Lost The Skyline' and pre-ordered the vinyl.

Regards

George.

Under a fiver from Amazon - what a cast, mind you not had it on yet!

Had to buy this after seeing him perform Ambulance Blues in Manchester on Wednesday night. I've already got it on vinyl but it's a re-issue and it sounds horrible.

Also got this because they've been discussed so much on here lately. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.

p.s. Steven Wilson's bank account must have started increasing recently with the amount of PT and related purchases here.

Looking forward to the vinyl version of Lightbulb Sun when that is released.

I saw her the other night on one of those superb BBC sessions. If somebody sees this scheduled on HD in the near future, let us all know. It would be one worth keeping as they will almost certainly put it out in DD.

I couldn't believe I had nothing of hers in my collection of hers so I just ordered this one as a start
