Some Americana for me:

Mark Lanegan + Isobel Campbell: Sunday At Devil Dirt. More bluesy than Ballad Of The Broken Seas, perhaps better too.

Willard Grant Conspiracy : Pilgrim Road. Mostly acoustic, low key gothic american folk. Somewhere between Bonnie Prince Billy and Nick Cave.

I'm looking forward to playing this one. Only discovered Petrucciani fairly recently. Saw Lagrene in Sheffield in about 1985 when he was aged about 17! He was amazing then. Haven't heard anything of his since. So all in all an interesting listen in prospect!

It's been a while since I bought any CDs, but here are the new releases I bought from HMV Japan.

Hiroko Kokubu: Spring Selection
My favourite easy jazz pianist.

A compilation of singles.
A Galactica Suite is a blast. Smile

Two CDs perfectly suited for a nice sunny spring day.
