At the risk of starting the most trivial thread of the year I’d love to know if anyone has any novel, innovative solutions for what to do with your record players’ Perspex lid when you are playing vinyl. I’m sure most of us use the lid whilst not in use to keep out dust, but also know we get best sound with the lid off when playing. I find myself at a loss where to put it so it’s safe and the room remains uncluttered during listening. Anyone?

Is there any difference between 5 i and 5 i -2? What is the significance of the designation -2 ? Thank you.

What do people find best - adding XPS to the CDX2 or NDAC? Currently my CDX2 goes via Audioquest Wel into the NDAC and out via Superlumina to a 282 and 250 both powered by a Supercap. Speakers are Spendor D7s. I was playing records and put on a new record. I then noticed the play mute was on. Odd. I didn't have the remote anywhere near me and I didn't touch the 282. Record mute was already on but I leave it that way. Anyway, I could not unmute it, nor could I change the source selection. Three years of kids in a small flat and trying to stubbornly avoid any compromises on the hifi front is proving futile. My PMC Twenty5.23 are now markedly more beaten up than the pair they replaced (damaged in shipping) and the kids love mucking about in the space between them. My current system is a Uniti Nova into Naim Allaes my room is 4m wide and 6m long I have solid walls and solid floors. The speakers fire down the length of the room, I can have them about 250mm from the rear wall and 750mm from the side walls, there is a sideboard in between the speakers. If I connect both the RCA (into my AV Amp) and DIN analogue outputs from a Naim streamer, will they play music simultaneously? I use my AV amp for my outdoor speakers.

At the moment I have a 5 level Fraim (base and 4 levels) placed to the right of the listening position. Speakers are well away from the front wall and therefor there's a lot of space behind the speakers to place the Fraim. I have an extra base and can split them as brain and brawn if needed, to lower the whole. How should I think here? I guess a recordplayer will complicate placement even further? Thanks, Stover

I have a 12 year old Naim system I like very much based around a CDX2 powered by a 200/282 combo. A new member to this threesome is joining soon - an LP12 with an AT MM cart. I am wondering if there are alternatives to the Stageline anyone would recommend I listen to before parting with more cash.

Hi, just wondering, can both outputs be used simultaneously on the ND5 XS? In this case, DIN output > 202 and RCA output > subwoofer amplifier.

After auditioning speakers several speakers at the weekend ProAc D20R PMC 25 23 Spendor A7 Totem Sky towers I have now placed an order for some Sky towers. I’m interesting in folks experience with room size, acoustics and system output. I recently moved my system from my lounge to a media room. This is a UC2, NAP100 and Totem Hawks. Hello Forum Members - I have a channel down and I'm looking for some help on potential trouble-shooting I've not already thought of. I've a 200/282 combo powered by a non-Naim PSU which is the equivalent of 2 Hi-Caps and an SC module in one. I've a TV, TT and CDX2 plugged into this lot and I only have the right channel working. today I went to my local dealer and listened to the new NDX2 with Supernait2 to see what I thought. I then added a hicap into the equation and then finally a XPS Dr. Somewhat interesting results for me in that the NDX2 over the NDX was in my opinion fairly comparable and only marginally better.
