I'm currently demoing a Soloist (the original) and am pretty smitten with it's prowess into my Beyer T-70. Clean and revealing. Quite happy with the mids and high end. The bass, while being highly delineated, is at the same time a bit too dominating. A Powerline on the Soloist improved the bass to a degree, but I'm still finding it bottom heavy. I'm using a Chord Crimson interconnect. Any suggestions as to which RCA-RCA interconnect might provide a more neutral balance?

I have had pretty much all the entry level Naims - Cd3/Nait3, CD5/Nait5, NaimUnity, NaimUnity2 and all of them suffer from tonal discrepancies. These are great entertainment combos where flow is evident. But tonally they do not reproduce piano or guitar in belivable tone. I try to use it with different power amps and it becomes obvious that the issue on the power amp side. Connect Linn Klout to NaimUnity2 and piano is piano. Connect to it Heed power monoblocks and the tone is there. NAP200...

When selling Naim amps I thought it was correct to include the Snaic lead with the power amp rather than the pre amp, I just sold some old Olive stuff and guy is livid that I didn't include a snaic with his pre! Is this correct?

Seems there is limited benefit of adding an external stage so current thinking is 82 with its internal phono boards.

In what order should I connect my Naim units on my mainsblock to get the best audio quality? Mainsblock: socket 1: AMP - socket 2: FLATCAP - socket 3: CD-player Or Maybe I should connect in this order for better audio quality? Mainsblock: socket 1: CD-player - socket 2: AMP - socket 3: FLATCAP On a side note. I have been using my Supra DC-blocker for some months now and I highly recommend this hifi accessory killing a random humming Naim amp! Sound has improved a lot more using my DC...

I read somewhere in the forum that in Seattle Naim sells the streamers at reduced price. Is it true for Europe too? Vincenzo

I have just returned home from my Naim dealer with my new ATC SCM11 speakers and FS104 Signature stands. Just finished setting everything up around 10 min ago and they are sounding superb straight from the box. The improvement over my previous Rega R5's is more than significant. One thing that was immediately noticeable is just how much louder the SCM11 are in my loving room compared to the demonstration room. During the demonstration I generally had the volume position on the DAC-V1-NAP200...

i would want to appreciate the benefit of an upgrade of the speakers cables as superlumina vs naca5. Is the improvement of superlumina vs naca5 as important as the upgrade from nap300dr vs nap250dr? has anyone could have compared the sound of nap 250dr with superlumina vs nap300dr with naca5? it must be different but perhaps in the same league, if i can say that? i am wondering because 2X6 meters of superlumina is a big cost..... thanks for sharing

had my Olive 135s fully serviced earlier this year- marvelous job Chris AV Options. Prior to service when I switched on my 135s a fairly loud pop would occur. After service a very quiet pop, hardly audible. Why would the turn-on pop get much quieter after a full service? david

I demoed a pair of SCM 19 recently with my 252/250.2 in a small room (12x 12). I felt that the SMC was looking for more power to come truly alive and deliver the PRAT that it was hinting at. Has anyone done a A/B with a NAP 250 and a NAP 300 and this speaker to see if there is a significant gain to be had from more current? Or is the 250 felt to be generally sufficient in smaller rooms? I also demoed the SCM 11 and thought that it was sufficiently powered by the 250. The SCM 19 may not have...

All the Nova comes setup as did the Atom with a default setting of 85, I always assumed that was purely a limit, but today I thought I would limit it to 50 just in case (for my setup 40 is VERY loud). However when setting max volume to 50 it actually lowered the volume (I was playing a track), so I played around upped it to 100 and same effect noticeable louder. So is this function not a limit, but rather a gain ??? For now I set max volume to 100 but dropped my listening volume to 18...

Hi Everybody, I'm currently in a dilemma as to next potential upgrade to my system. I'm currently running ATC SCM40 Mk2 (curved cabinets), being driven by ATC CDA2 preamp/CD/DAC and ATC P1 power amplifier. I also have a Naim Unit Core. I have seen the rave reviews of the Naim Uniti Nova and was wondering if this would represent an upgrade on the ATC amplification. i.e. replace the CDA2 and P1 with Nova. I would be quite happy to lose the CD playing function of the CDA2 and use the Naim Core...

Went from All In One (AIO) to separates in slightly over a year. What started out was intended to be a minimal investment for a "better" sound system - Unitilite, NACA5 and a pair of Focal Aria 926. Boy, was I wrong. Within a few months, I was looking at upgrades. Went for Nova audition and while, it was much better than Unitilite, I know that eventually, i will be looking for upgrades again. After the Nova auditions and discussions with a few Naim dealers, i concluded that separates was the...

need some help, after removing seven transit screws on the cd555 I very carefully installed brundys as marked on the installation guide, installed the 5pin Din and...nothing ? no sound yet player is working and power source is on. As this is a very gently pre-owned unit i was told by the dealer that perhaps it was set up to recognize RCA as the input but I dont see any way to change to the 5pin din? what am I missing?? I used the remote and could not find a menu option relative to choosing...

Welcome to System Pics 2017. To get us started here is a picture of my setup: other than longer legs on the rack and some new wires, it's just the same as last year.

i would very much value the findings of anyone that’s tried either of these, especially in the context of a fully loaded LP12 Im not in the market for a new cart for 2or 3 years but it just so happens that many years ago while I was using the Akiva I did toy with the idea of getting the Lyra Titan and obviously so did Linn ! So there is a possibility of at least the Etna being re-badged lyndon

Evening All Just want to see the thought of combining Tellurium speaker cables with Lumina Interconnects ? Now i am going active the timeline to buying 4 x 4m runs of Lumina Speaker cable is a long way of. Also I understand they dont do an XLR cable that would go from SuperCap to NAP250 making 'Full Loom' type usage impossible. Having tested and proven the benefits to myself of the Lumina interconnect and XLR i would not want to be without. So would SL Interconnect + XLR + Tullurium Black2...

Just recently my HDX has started to play up. Displayed on the screen is the naim logo surrounded by the cd disc shape and the message "please wait". After about 15 seconds the last used screen will appear briefly (either last played or home screen) then back to the "please wait" screen, during this time it is shown as offline on the ipad. The only way to use my HDX is to switch off and restart. It will work for a varied amount of time before going into please wait mode. The HDX is 5 years...

I have a Superline. I also have a spare balanced tonearm cable. Of course, the Superline has only Phono/RCA inputs. But I have been reading about cartridges basically being balanced components. So my question is: "Might it be an advantage to reduce interference (RFI, EMI and hum from nearby mains cables, by using a balanced cable between my arm and the Superline input, using an XLR>RCA adaptor into the rear of the Superline?"

I am looking for some starting points from the collective wisdom ! Having got the electronics on Fraim and hopefully upgrading the ND5 to NDX soon i am in a place where new boxes will be a while away. With this in mind my attention turned to speakers - Where the SBL the next limiting factor was the question ? A friend was interested in a s/h pair of S400 so we did a deal and i have had them in the listening room for the last week. Safe to say they outperformed the SBL in almost all ways in...

just a short note to say I have just read on Facebook that frank is deeply unwell with a brain tumour. His wife Judith posted the news overnight and it has come as a complete shock to many, myself included. A serious Naim user and, I believe, dealer for the company in Malta? im sure you will join me in sending him our best wishes and thoughts.

After some deliberation I have decided to book a loudspeaker audition this coming Saturday. I will be comparing the ATC SCM11 and the Russell K red 50. I fully anticipate it to be a close call between them, as I'm led to believe they both have a fairly similar sonic signature. Either way I am really looking forward to having one of them in my system very soon. Additionally if anyone else has compared them side by side in the same system, I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts. I will...

Had no problem with my Superline/Hicap2 until today, when a very deep sounding rumble (like a steamroller going over speed bumps in the next street) sounded through my system today. Seemed to cause an HF distortion which sounded like my cartridge mistracking badly. Gets very loud if the volume is turned up.... and disappears from my system if I turn just the Hicap2/Superline off. Also, immediately following the switch-off, I can hear what sounds like caps discharging (pop, pop, pop) about 5...

Hi everyone, I’m m hoping I can get some help. I have a Atom I borrowed from my local dealer running my PMC Twenty.24 speakers and sounds good. My local dealer then advised trying out the Nova for a considerable sq advantage, which after using this it seems to have a tighter bass and more control over the sound, but the Atom sounds quite good at volume level around 45-55. I noticed the Nova sound seems fuller a a lower volume, my question is would the Atom sound better if I get a Nap 250 or...
