Thor Got a good write up by Harry Knowles on AICN, which is no guarantee, but in this case was true. Both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Full of humour, without detracting from the central character. Fairly standard device: Take a...

I frequently see the constituent colours especially in fast motion across the screen in adjacent blocks of red/green/blue. I know that the image is made up of these colours, but other people watching the movie don't see this. We use an HD projector...
I am looking to replace my old Harmon Kardon AVR7500 with the latest Anthem MRX510. This unit comes with the latest Anthem ARC system that requires software input to a PC. I am a Mac owner and believe that the software supplied does not run on Mac OS...
Amazingly slooooooooow. Great effects, great spidey .......just 45 minutes too long; not helped by the fact that this is all well trodden ground as Tobey Macguire is still pretty fresh in the mind. M

My older plasma tv has only 2 hdmi inputs. I see a ton of relatively cheap hubs on Amazon, some with pretty good reviews. Any good recommendations? I don't need a remote control, but given that it'll probably reside behind the tv...
My AV2 has just been set up after the move to Hong Kong and whilst working great for TV and 5.1 from iTunes not so on blu ray. For BR i am using the versatile outputs via the rear Av2 outputs to connect direct to the rear of the player. All channels...
I see many a n-cent on the 2nd hand market and not to many n-Sats, and was just wondering if it was feasible to use the n-Cents as the fronts?
Hi I would like to try setting up a hi res 5.1 surround music room and play downloaded 5.1 flac music files from ITrax.com who specialise in the recording of this type. I can play these files on my laptop through foobar 2000 and windows...
"Naim only sold about 50 AV1s in the UK. I have one so it's almost a collectors piece!" Taken from a Hi-fi Corner topic.
Just wondering if anyone else has dabbled with bass shakers/tactile transducers?? I was sufficiently intrigued to purchase 4x Reckhorn bass shakers for home cinema and gaming and have mounted them to some pine batons screwed into the sofa. Currently driving them with an old Yamaha AV receiver and feeding the Yamaha with the LFE output from my main Pioneer receiver. I have to say I'm really blown away (literally) by how much they add to the cinema experience for certain types of films. I...
Sorry to open a new thread for a parallel subject, but I risked not being read while I need opinions now. I have connected my AV2 to the Nait5 i 's AV input, using a DIN to RCA cable (the Nait doesn't have a DIN socket for AV). Then, switching the...

Hello everyone, After a period of storage, I'm slowly re-introducing my set to the outside world again. I'm using a reduced set of components at the moment, largely due to smaller people's interest in all things that have buttons and...
I recently bought a smart TV and discovered the "Joys of Netflix". However, I have a problem. When watching cable, DVD or TV tuner, I have the option of sound selection, cinema, general, music, sport etc. When watching Netflix I don't. It's not...
I had my entire System (DVD5/AV2/NAPv175/NAP200) powered down because I was away for a few days and wanted it all to be nice and safe.
Came home and turned it all back on and wanted to watch some TV (sat receiver via toslink) but the signal kept...
Hello, I might be buying an AV2 because it seems a good bargain. I had one a few years ago, and I still might be enjoying good DVD sound in my stereo system. The unit comes with an apparently classic grey, 5-pin, 180° interconnect, but I seem to remember that it was an 'inverted' one to use it into the Unity Gain mode of preamps and integrates, going from analogue input 3 of the AV2 into av input of the preamp/integrated. The seller is not sure, so I ask someone here: did the AV came with...
CD555/555PS costs c. £20k.With the arrival of NAS1/ NAS2 at c. £150k and Speakers at £30k that makes £200k to play CDs. Add matching amps and speakers for 7.1 surround sound plus a top-of-the-range Projector and screen would knock that investment up to the half million mark or beyond. Sticking an Opp 105 on the front at £1k seems incongruent. Any suggestions ? Cheers Don
