Am looking for help on my connection options having trawled the forum and wider internet to look for a solution with no luck. My set up is 282/ SC / 250DR (Kef Ref 2-2) about to add NDX / Melco N1A to move away from the CD. My issue is the distance from my router to the audio to run an Ethernet cable. Is connecting this cable from the router via a switch box the only option. I have sky Q router and wifi booster box separately with an Ethernet output and am just about to finally get fibre...

hi, can anyone help with my imac. itunes issue i am using Asset as the UPNP with my unitilite light 2 and after reading another thread i purchased the Export Playlist app, set that up as instructed and the export playlist app shows that its has grabbed the itunes library The Asset has the Export Playlist added but going through the Naim app none of the library appears. Is it a case that Asset doesn't work with ITUNES thanks

Just been playing with MinimServer on the Mac Mini, late 2012 model, quad core i7, 16Gb RAM, running Mac OS 10.12, aka Sierra. Appears very noisy by comparison with MinimServer running on a Synology NAS, noticeable level of background hiss at quiet volumes, not present on the NAS variant........ Playback is through wireless streaming to Naim Mu-so in both cases. Anyone have any thoughts as to why and/or what might be done to improve SQ? Note, Synology NAS wirelessly streaming to SuperUniti...

Hi there! Yesterday I picked up a used NAIM DAC and then I hooked up my HDX via DC1 (BNC TO BNC) to it and the DAC via the HiLine to the SN2. I reall didn't expect what I hear now. Honestly, I am at a loss of words. I never heard digital music like this. The sheer dynamic overkill is quite unsettling...in an awesome way. If you have a HDX...get a NAIM DAC. I know...yesterday's news, but I needed to ramble.

Hi, What temperature does your SU run at? The reason that I ask is mine runs at 55c in the shelf/enclosure that is it's home. This has between 1 & 3" air gap around it. However, in open space it runs about 8c lower. Am I running it too hot? Thx, Tony

Been a while since I've visited here, the main reason being the nait 3 hearted system I bought back in '97 has mostly just kept on doing its stuff. Exceptions are the cd3 transport dying, and a 5 i was the result, and the nait going back to Ritchie's for a re-cap on its 15th birthday. While that was getting done I looked at a ND5 and was Most Impressed, but didn't have anything that needed streaming and couldn't afford it anyway... While my current streaming needs will be looked after by a...

How would I rip an audio DVD so my unitiserve serv can see it and play to my NDS? I fancy listening to Floyd quad mix of DSOTM from the immersion set on my main system. regards Gary

Hi, I would like to know how to connect many different sources with optical cables on Naim Muso ? Thx
musicfan51Posted: 27 September 2016Last Updated: 29 October 2016
Do you use Cat5 or Cat7 or one of the upper end Ethernet cables like from Audioquest or Chord? I know many say it makes no difference, though I have read articles that says with higher end systems (I would think a Naim NDS with 555DR would be considered high end) it does make a difference. Love to hear what everyone uses and your opinions. And does it matter on what brand of Ethernet port you use also? Thank you.

Would love some help. My unitiqute plays analog, is hooked up to wifi, but for whatever reason cannot connect to my music. I have deleted the app and re-downloaded it. Used the remote. Restarted the computer. Re-installed Playback. Nothing is working. Any assistance would be great. ken

Hello all - I'd be grateful for any thoughts on the following. About 18 months ago I converted to streaming and ripped 3000 plus CDs, plus downloaded a number of hi res files. I had to give up work three years ago because of ill health. It was a bit of a blow having to give up work, but the positive side of it was that I now get to listen to a minimum of six hours music a day. I also have to go into hospital every 12 weeks for treatment which really knocks me out, but again the positive spin...

I have an older unitiqute, with RS232 connector on the back. The software is currently at version 3.00. The plan was to update to V4.4. I was told by support that I could go ahead and load V4.4, this would pick up previous updates. I purchased a Ugreen USB to RS232 cable, with PL2303 chipset. Downloaded the latest drivers for Mac 10.10 Yosemite and installed. On running the Naim Streamer Updater I select 'usbserial' as the serial port. Power off then on the Qute and proceed. After some...

Probably a real pretty basic and silly question but I'm not quite clear in my head how this all works ... Currently I have a UnitiServ directly connected via DAC V1 to my pre-amp with a NAS connected for storing hi-res and for use as the US backup; all accessed via the NServ app on my iPhone . I have Sonus for playing in other rooms and, quite nicely, it can access the US backup folder on the NAS so I can still play all my ripped CDs via the Sonus app on my iPhone. ... so I am now...

Hi there - I have a Readynas NAS that streams perfectly to my Nac-n 272 (and uniti and unitiqute). Is adding a unitiserve (ssd or 2tb) to my system worthwhile sonically? My music collection around 1TB and is all flac as CD, 24/96 and 24/192 quality. The CDs were ripped on my windows pc.... may be an issue? Cheers Jonathan

I have an HDX attached to a LAN network on which is a NAS drive. On my laptop and on my App I can see all the music on that NAS drive. It is currently set as a Network Share. When I try to Use as Store it produces the error Invalid Operation 'cannot authenicate share "\\192.168.1.243\Music"' When I try to play a disc I get the error message "Hard disk player is currently busy. Please try again." or "Play request failed" on the App The HDX has taken IP address 192.168.1.102 My computer has...

Please, please, please, please, I am begging you please... Get your shit together on streaming software and firmware. You are freaking horrible at it. I thought my employer made the worst software, but you are vying for the top spot. The Android app finally was updated to work with Nougat (sort of, appears to depend on some kind of biorhythm/moon phase confluence) and then tonight I have been f***ing with the 272 for half an hour and unable to get past the first 3-10 seconds of the first...

Did you guys heard of the price increase with the unit range ? Yes and that happen within 2-3 weeks of product announcement and even before the first unit reaches its owner. While I can perfectly understand the reason behind the price increase, what concerns me is the timing of it. Shouldn't Naim have waited for the adjustment that happens in April every year?

Despite having reasonable internet radio coverage on a Mu-so the queuing of UnPn tracks from a Naim system for use on the Mu-so appears to break down after three or four when used over wi-fi. I am unsure of the cause of the problem but if the Mu-So is hard wired directly to the router it appears to work correctly. Hard wiring in it's usual location is only possible using an internet over mains plug so I ask if there are any recommendations about this type of product.

On Monday I fitted the Paul Pang ethernet switch into my high end streaming system, with linear power supply, and have to totally recommend this as a huge upgrade over the netgear 105. You won't get a better £100 upgrade.
